Hi guys.

I was recently modding a jetpack, with the intention of making a smoke trail using pinned smoke effects, (mosparticles with a few frames). but when I pinned them, they didn't animate, even when I added the SpriteAnimMode and friends variables as found in brains.ini. when I unpinned the MOSParticles, they animated perfectly, but of course didn't look good/like I had planned.

Any suggestions? What animates even when pinned (other than an actor, that's just messy).

Did you try MOSRotatings? You could also set the particles to have GlobalAccScalar = 0, no collisions, and emitted with 0 vel to get the same effect.

You could try a high air resistance instead of pinning.

last time i messed with air resistance it ended badly...

it stayed like that for a while...

AirResistance = 1

thanks, I'll try this when I can.

to try:

-Use mosrotatings instead.
-Use airresistance = 1, in conjunction with GlobalAccScalar = 0, no collisions, and emitted with 0 vel.

hopefully mosrotatings will work, because emitting with 0 velocity makes the jetpack less effective, so I'd have to tweak it and all that kind of stuff again.

AirResistance = 1 means you can emit at any speed and get the full effect, and the particle wont move. you wont need to touch the globalaccscalar, because airresistance effects the y plane aswell.
