Post subject:  Three Quick Questions

Is it at all possible, with the help of lua, to recreate the bio rifle from Unreal Tournament 3?

I just want to see if it's possible before I make it.

I wanna know specifically how to make it attach to an actor and then disappear after a predetermined about of time into tiny particles on the floor that do nothing.

I also want to make it so if an actor comes into contact with an element such as this, that it sticks to the actor and once again, disappears after a predetermined about of time into tiny particles on the floor that do nothing (Or something, depending on which one is more entertaining to ♥♥♥♥ with).

My second question is simply this. How does one go about making a machine that disintegrates like the ground. I've got an idea to make a giant flying ice cream truck made of ice cream (For kicks) and I want to see if it can indeed be done before rushing headlong into it and snapping my neck upon impact of the floor and bleed a puddle of massive failure.

Last Question, probably the silliest one. Is it at all possible to make something explode into harmless bits of confetti instead of limbs and bits of vital organs?

Thanks guys.

No.

Darlos? made a deformable sprite method but I doubt it would be the best idea.

Yes.

I was thinking if I tweaked the sprayer (Quite a lot, actually), I could manage the bio rifle. Guess not, huh.

Well thanks man. I appreciate the help.

The first one can still be done reasonably well using a bullet that gibs on impact into an antigravity emitter that gets pushed by actors. It won't work moving backwards, but if the fizz out time is small enough, 90% of the time you won't notice.

You could get some of the function of the biorifle from UT (it was in every UT game, too).

But nothing sticks to actors.

You could use a custom wound to make it stick to the actor, but you'd need to find a way to get a custom wound to jump from one actor to another.

Interesting... I'll have to try that out. Thanks Lord Tim.

Hm... Alright. Thanks.

This is a brilliant idea. I must try this.

Brilliantly impossible, I'm afraid. As of this build, wounds are determined only by the actor. You can't get a particular bullet to inflict a particular wound.

Oh booger. Well I'll try the first idea then. Maybe use a little bit from the waterworks mod from build 20. That might serve my purpose. I've got to ask permission first, of course.
