for those who dont know me i like the more messed up mods and after seeing a lack o these mods decided to make my own or atempt to
It isnt really a tenasious D mod but guitar and drum based weps
but like i said this is my first one so if anyone can give me some advice or sprites please post

Tenacious D are a crap band who made a crap movie to advertise their crap singles.
Change it to a mod of a better band, say, Metallica, and ill call it an acceptable idea.

Lern 2 Spehl...and Tenacious D are quite possibly the shittiest band I HAVE SEEN THUS FAR.

I support the idea of music-based weapons, though. Maybe you could make the guitar play a guitar line and the drums play a drums line?

The people here do realize that Tenacious D is basically a joke band, right?

Their overbearing AWESOME POWER OF ROCK attitude might actually work well with the idea of making weapons that overwhelm the enemy with their sheer power of rock-itude.

Best advice I can give is just to try grabbing the code from something you think you can twist to what you want and moving it into it's own .rte then messing with it from there and see what happens. Trial and error is the best way to learn.

As an example, take the code from a shotgun, change the colour of the bullets to make them transparent (255,0,255) , replace the sprite with a guitar, replace the fire sound with a rockin metal lick and blast peoples heads off with the power of ROCK.

hmmm could be good. but just make it general rock metal icons like demons devils and cherubs(apparently) with general looking rockers.

Dragonforce is worse. (yes I know the guitarist is good but 10 minute long solos does not mean qaulity music)


Ontopic: guitar weapon was done once before, wasn't bad. good luck!

Just have it shoot musical notes as tracers, or little sound shockwaves, similar to the fist weapon in DSTech mod.

...sorry, couldn't resist. Good luck with the mod. Musical notes as tracers sounds good. You could set their gravity variable to a small negative value so they float upwards slowly as they leave the instrument.

Not as much as Tenacious D.

Well, quarter notes/other notes could be the "smoke" that comes out when you "shoot".
