Gears of War Mod...
Heres the first post on here for me, although ive been tryin to make mods for a while, but i can never be stuffed to finish them.... so heres the start of a mod that i AM goin to finish.... hopefully Im not sure if someone has done a GoW mod before, but if they have im just gonna have a go for myself EDIT-Lancer has been shortened now. If it needs to be shorter still just say. Longshot not so skinny now

I'm interested to see how you plan to get the main rifle to work. DO you actually plan to have it with a usable chainsaw as well as have use of main rifle?

Before you put time and effort into plan A, you might want to find out if it is actually possible for one gun to fire in 2 modes.

Well what i was gonna do was when you buy the lancer it gives you two guns one or the chainsaw and the other one for shootin stuff, but i have yet to test everything so ill have to wait and see what i do really...

For the chainsaw, you could pin an emitter to the front of the rifle that emits small invisible particles, that have very low lifetime.

Cool idea but then wouldnt it be on all the time? You could end up choppin a leg off or disemboweling some poor friendly dude in front of you.. but maybe... would you be able to get beefy chainsaw sounds by doin that tho?

Sure, you'd just get sick of it real quick. Also, when exiting from a dropship it's a hazard, and backed up particles could cause lag/other weird ♥♥♥♥ when you pull it out of the inventory. Not to mention dumb AI chainsawing your rocket.

isnt the particles back-up lag thing fixed? also yeah, the sound would likely get very annoying, although i suppose CC would fade it if it was a while away. i wouldnt do it with 2 weapons, that annoys me.

Ill probably just make it so you buy the one gun but can swtich between the gun and chainsaw as if you had two...
I defo wont have the chainsaw sound running all the time anyway it would get very annoying.
At the mo ill just do the sprites and stuff i need, then play with the coding.

Alright I new if I shut up about there never being a GoW mod someone would eventually make it Yay for me. Now for something constructive The lancer's sprite looks alright but the whole front half of the gun looks a little too long there, but it's probably still better than my sprite. 1.And for your chainsaw problem have you ever considered having the chainsaw activate at the same time as your shoot that way you keep one gun and you can shoot and chainsaw 2.or maybe you can have something similar to what numgun did to this on mine deploying gun (you drop it shot at it a couple of times till something changed colors and a new type of mine was deployed) personally I like the first one Oh and here's something that could help a little with the chainsaw take a look at this mod from build 20 or 21 can't remember which, but I do know it had an awesome chainsaw gun that was so good it really looked like the blades were moving so take a look it might help just to look at it a bit. download USC pack for chainsaw

If you use StartTimeMS on an emitter, you can have it so the emitter doesn't start emitting until after the actor spawns. This can be used to avoid wrecking drop ships or rockets.
Also, I suggest making the guns somewhat... shorter. I learned a long time ago you can't directly emulate the look of a gun for CC. You have to kinda truncate it to make it work with the deformed actors.

Make guns smaller a bit , cause im sure you will not use big actors (like AAL marine) . In that case that you are making basic size actors you need much smaller weapons .
