Post Problem making MOs hit an actor's jetpack
Im trying to create an actor for my faction. The idea is that it has a jetpack that can be blown up by shooting it a few times. However any MOs or MOParticles aren't hitting it, they seem to be wounding the legs instead. So now I'm out of ideas. The actor is attached below.

There's one of two possible problems:

1 - The mass is too low. Right now, it seems like if an object's mass is low enough, stuff just goes right through it. I guess that makes sense, since if an object of a certain size has a very low mass, then its probably a ball of gas, fluff, or weird goo. So, try making the mass of the jet pack higher, so the game will treat it like a solid object.

2 - Jetpacks might just be hard-coded to not be hit. This probably isn't true though, so try #1 before jumping to this conclusion.

Also, before anybody says it: yes he has HitsMOs and GetsHitByMOs set to 1. Though he only really needs GetsHitByMOs set to 1. HitsMOs just takes up more processing power for no reason in this case, so just set it to 0.

Also, as a final note: destructible jetpacks would be absolutely no fun in CC. Though you can do it, it'd be annoying as crap when the standard is NON-destructible jetpacks. So even the ronins would have an edge over your guys, since none of the base actors - or most modded actors - have destructible jetpacks, and therefor can't be crippled.

It might make sense in the context of attachable jetpacks (can such a thing even be donw in CC so far?). Like, you have a regular puny indestructible jetpack, and then a large WTFTHATSPOWERFUL jetpack that can be destroyed.

Sorry, but that's the case. Believe me, I've tried every trick in the book. you can't get rid of them. it's very annoying, I think destructible jetpacks would be cool.

Attachables on jetpacks can be hit though, but the actual jetpack just absorbs* rounds.

*I think, they may just pass right through, but I'm pretty sure the rounds are absorbed with no effect.

I specifically remember a paralyzing effect from broken jets.
I know at some point this worked.

Hmm... I got the jetpack to be wound-able, but it's absurdly screwy. It uses the actor's wounds half the time instead of the ones defined for it, and then the wounds float around when the jetpack aims... And gibbing doesn't work.

Of course if you wanted an invariably fatal jetpack explosion, you could make the jet a null sprite, and put a jetpack looking attachable where the jetpack should go, which gibs and leaves a 100 damage breakwound. Then there's no using the jets after 'they' blow; cause you're dead.
...But it sure was awesome way back when you could control jets after death. Last-ditch meat-missiles flying into dropship engines on apocalypse towers...

Oh and you could also do null sprite EmissionsIgnoreThis = 0 explosive wounds on the jetpack; but like I said, it sometimes uses the actor's wound instead.

Looks like the problem was that when the bullets hit the jetpack, they wounded some random bodypart and the jetpack itself was unharmed. Fixed it with the attachable method. I made the attachable gib something around the power of the rocket launcer, so it's actually a lot more fun, since there's a rain of body parts shortly after the explosion. And the crippling from losing your jetpack really wouldn't have been a problem, because the enemies shoot at your jetpack very rarely. And most of the time they are aiming at you from the front anyway.

I'm not sure how much I'd want to play with exploding jetpacks either...
