Flascoid Particle Emiter
This is a screencap of something i've been working on, and i'm wondering if I should release it.
I've created the 1st sprite, I need to make a firing sprite (easy) custom sound, Thanks to Mr. Reznor. and I need to give it a muzzle-flash, and adjust the magazine a little.
the stuff it fires, is this slow moving cloud of particles, that kill everything. Sometimes it turns a clone into a pile of blood, others, it will do one damage. it lags a bit because it fires hundreds of particles, but Ctrl+O and I still get about 10-12 FPS. (tutorial map, nothing happening, timescale is 0.89 on my machine)
just tell me what you think. this doesn't include the gun, just the aftermath of shooting for a couple seconds.

Re: Flascoid Particle Emiter
That actually looks pretty cool. Acid gas grenade, bascially. With 3M hydrochloric in it

Re: Flascoid Particle Emiter
Does this often leave behind what appear to be parts of the explosion sprite in the background? The last tear gas type grendade someone made was around build 13(?) and had some problems with that.

Re: Flascoid Particle Emiter
Maybe you should just tone down the amount of stuff coming out, to reduce lag. it actually looks really good, and you could make a smoke grenade that actually works like a real smoke grenade: maybe if you threw a TDExplosive which gibbed into A MOSRotating with an attached emitter with a start and end variable... I'm a genius. do it.

I'm a genius. do it. its not a grenade at all. its a gun. it isn't a grenade launcher either. it doesn't work AT ALL like a grenade launcher. I need to create a damned muzzle flash for it because for some reason if the particles don't start an inch and a half from the gun, it will explode. I have the Idea for the muzzle-flash, but I have to actually make it, and all my free MMO's keep distracting me.

ppiksmada wrote: I like your FPS. Heh. when I made it the first time it said FPS 1, but I was actually getting 0.3 it never says less than 1. It also says 1.0 timescale, but it was so laggy that it thought it was 1.0 but it was actually about 0.1. Since then, i've cut the number of particles in 1/50, which is the screen-cap i posted. Now I need help with something. I know how to have multiple sprites for a muzzle flash, but I need to know, can i have multiple frames of a glow? I wanted this to only use a bunch of screen effects instead of sprites, for the muzzle flash. otherwise, I REALLY need to work ALLOT on sprites.
