Ok, I'm modifying my Oyster robot, and the attachables.ini is rejected b cortex command, says their is an error at line 1. Rubbish. I think it's a problem converting from b21 to b22, but when I check the code, it seems exactly the same. What the heck is going on? |

What in the world? I see nothing wrong with line 1, (AddEffect = MOSRotating) I copied a line from the dropship code, and it has the exact same spelling. Have you tried reinstalling CC? |

No need, one of my friends who I've contracted as my beta tester has the same problem. It's been happening once every 3 attempts to run CC usually, although I posted this after it became an almost permanent crash. And it's not actually complaining about line 1: I accidently changed something later on in the ini which made it crash. It actually read that far. I've also tried putting all the code into the actor's ini, which did nothing except change the error to read 'error at oyster.ini line 1' instead of 'attachables.ini' This is frustrating. |

You could try re-writing little bits of the attatchables at a time, so you can find the problem attatchable and maybe fix it. Also, i can imagine it is frustrating. |

Ok, recent testing reveals it to be a permanent error. This is highly unusual. And yeah, that was what I tried originally, changing any differences in code, and I found it was identical. It's not a coding error as far as I can tell. I'm very confused. Edit: And it isn't the error you'd get for normal coding errors: you know the one: rte aborted because of error at said line. It just says cortex command has to close when it gets to line 1 of attachables.ini ARGH! |

I don't know any other way to try and fix it. |

Yeah, it's just that that is a major pain. There are an awful lot of attachables on the Oyster. And of course it may not work. |

Your problem is either an accidental mistake in the code's grammar elsewhere than line 1 or the file is corrupted. Or maybe the problem might in a previous .ini file or something. And I bet its the latter. Because I've had the same problem myself with AAL. The MPAM's machinegun had some wierd crap that made it crash every "x" times when I ran CC. I suggest you make a new blank .ini file and copy paste a small portion of the code in your old ini into the new one and test. If it runs ok, add more code and repeat. If it seems to crash at a certain point, remove that part completely and retype/recopypaste that code and add the values you had in that part. I hope this helps. At least it did for me. |

Thanks Numgun, I really appreciate that, I'll try it in computers class today. Edit: Numgun, you're the bestest. Turns out the armour gibs were causing it, due to a change in Cortex Command's syntax. You're method worked perfectly. Edit2: Oh you've got to be kidding me, it's doing it again. you have no idea how FRUSTRATING this is!! Edit3: a change in where everything is seems to have fixed it, but I don't trust it. I should be able to find it, and if not, it's fixed. We shall see. this should be the last edit, unless I simply can't fix it. |
