Post Activities issues with B22 (Solved)
I was trying to piece together a custom activity with an army of dummies, but then every time I tried to load it this error came up:

"Referring to an instance ('Dummy Drop Ship') to copy from that hasn't been defined! in Base.rte/Activities.ini at line 52"

I am not very experienced at modding, so of course I wouldn't know how to fix this.

Edit:

THIS IS SOLVED, look at numgun's post if you had the same problems.

P.S. Can you maybe give us a selectable activities of certain factions in the future, for skirmish options data?

Strange, the error you have pretty much says "Dummy Drop Ship" does not exist. Though that's exactly how it's named, and Dummy.rte is loaded before activities.. I don't know.

Perhaps you don't have the right spacing?

Post your activities.ini in [code] tags please.

None of the vanilla .rtes are loaded before the main activities file - that's why I (for one of many) am whining.

To fix: Copy the includefile lines from dummy.rte/index.ini into base.rte/index.ini before the activities entry.

ATTENTION:

PUT YOUR ACTIVITIES EDITS INTO MISSIONS.RTE

Download the activities patch from the topic in general discussions and open up the activities.ini in missions.rte You will see the first 2 parts are for the campaign missions and the final large block of code is for the skirmish. Edit only that part with the name "Skirmish Defence" and make sure you dont delete the others.

Actually, what I tried was taking a code from that patch in the missions.rte, and pasting it into the base.rte activities so I could use a quick copy and paste faction skirmish.

Look, the official .rte folders are hardcoded to load in a specific order. Missions.rte is the last one and the base.rte is the first one.

With that said if you make an activities in base.rte with stuff from dummies/coalition/ronin/mission or anything else, it wont work since that very item you want in the activities DOES NOT EVEN EXIST yet.

If you want to have the activities of third party stuff aka mods, then you must either make the mod load through the official modules before the actual activities.ini in missions.rte

OR

You can make the mod have an activities.ini of its own, but in this case you must disable the official activities from the missions.rte by commenting them out using //Commented code or /* Commented code */.

Is base.rte even used anymore?
Base.rte contains the dummy, the dreadnought, the dummy dropship, and all that,
but so does dummie.rte, with the same names,

with the exceptions of materials.ini, the bunker modules, and the origional OLD vanilla content (shotgun, flack canon, etc), everything in base.rte is in another rte, with the same names...

whats up with that?

I take it you installed the B22 over your old installation. Because if I remember right, there should be no dummies and no coalition if you install B22 into a new directory.

If not, I blame Dan. ;)
