Instant Terrain question
From what I understand, you can have something spawn and immediately become terrain, even in mid-air. How is this done? I've never really messed with it.
I have to imagine it deals with some combination of RestThreshold and PinStrength, but I could be wrong.

Re: Instant Terrain question
I've been wondering this too, since it would make constructing bridges so much easier.

Re: Instant Terrain question
If they still do what they used to, Status variables can make ♥♥♥♥ into terrain (value 2?). Then you could spawn actors that become terrain.
Or you could take out InheritsVel and put RT=0 and PinStrength=338659204562

Re: Instant Terrain question
Last I checked Numgun did it with his terrain bomb by making a super low priority material MOSR that didn't pin and had RestThreshold of like, 1.

Though you may be thinking of the ice bomb, since the terrain bomb vaporizes the ground. Well, after messing with stuff, I discovered that a liberal application of sticky particles can act as a mortar to hold larger MOSRotating gibs in place after gibbing... go check out my mod thread for the result. It's still kinda messy, but it has the effect I'm going for.

Re: Instant Terrain question
I was just playing around with the aal bombs today actually, and there is one that plops down a bunch of dirt. Just like the dirtball in liero. And it sure didn't use sticky particles, perhaps it has a simpler execution?

And even then I don't think he was trying to do what I'm trying to do.

Re: Instant Terrain question
Lua area things?
If in area make 'blah' here if and only if 'flag.build' == 0, then set 'flag.build' to 1, 'blah' instantaneously becomes terrain.
The bridge is created.
