J-Tech Faction Weapons - NEED CODER
I've tried coding stuff before, and it just takes too long for me actually code it. So, I thought I could just make up some sprites and see what people think/make of them. Flaming expected. but constructive criticism wanted. The weapons look really good, I love the style, but it doesn't look like it would go with the default actors very well.

Just imagine the grip of a gun, and then putting all this different stuff on it to make your own style of gun. @Duh102: Just make a weapon set out of em. Super guns or realistic, whichever you feel works. :lightbulb I could do requests! That's a good idea. Any requests for a type of gun? Any thoughts on how I could improve the ones I've got?

I was asking more for stylistic guidance, IE if they shoot regular bullets, glowing red ones, etc. I'm going with the assumption you want glowing, just because I like glowing shots.

ok, ive downloaded it and its great. there are a few problems tho. the first is that they're a bit overpowered: i can gib a dummy dropship with one engine-hit using the 'carbine'.
the second problem is that the names are wrong, but you already established that i didnt say anything, so thats fine.
the third is that the glows look cool, but i dont agree with the bullet sprite. i dont like the glow on the end of the bullet.
the fourth problem is that the magazines/clips/whatevers arnt there, but again you've said this was a quick job so thats ok.
the last problem, and i wouldnt really call it a problem, is that you've done such a great job, id like you to do some more work for me. (that sounded like im a manager of something, which im not)
so my conclusion is: good work for a quick job, and can you help me flesh out the rest of this mod? if youre not busy.
i eagerly await your response
i also edited the pic, so maybe you could update some of the guns?

OP: Easily fixed. I'll down the particles and weights. Names: Since you've labeled them I'll get on it. Glow: There isn't a red pixelglow, so it's either they look like that, I make a trail, or no glow at all. Your choice. Mags: I didn't see anything that looked like a magazine sprite on anything other than the GL, so... But now there are, so yeah. More work: It's nice to feel useful. The Rest: Sure, I'll help you. I'll add the mags from the pic and fix the names. One thing I forgot to mention, the rocket sprite will have to be changed a bit. Can't have them fire oriented correctly.

do you mean the rocket wont fly properly in-game because of the two pixels on the end of it? if so, why not just make the rocket appear a bit in front of the muzzle? or just take those two pixels off.
and i would like the bullet/round to be red, without a glow following it. also, make the grenade 'splosion have a cloud or fireball of something, cos just having the lines flying out looks a bit weak/not powerful enough. same with rocket/rpg when you get to it.
can you code actors as well?
edited the pic again, left the rocket/rpg as is

Rocketspin: No, it just won't orient. If you fire it, I can either make it spin like the grenade launcher or not rotate at all. In either case I would hide it behind smokey trail stuff, so the point is mostly moot. Actors: If you can sprite them, I can try my hand. I have not done actors from scratch, just resprites of base.rte actors. So no glows, smoke for the 'nades and rockets. Alright. Edit: How's this? Attachment: JTech.rte v0.02.rar

sorry for double post and bump
does someone want to sketch an actor they think would go with these weapons? does anybody have any requests, or have i covered everything, weapons-wise? does somebody/anyone think i should make a faction out of these? cos i dont know if i should.
EDIT: ive gone out on a limb here and made some actors, but im really talking to myself cos noone is reading this topic.
