GOLD
can anyone tell me of the file that controls how much gold is worth and what makes it a resource in the game. ty in advance

As far as i know, editing of Gold isnt possible right now.
But you can edit how much gold you start with by going to base/activities.ini and changing the value there.

ty for the quick response. i like scowered the files but figured it must be something i wouldnt recognise, hopefully in next release they have editable so can add new types of resources. and sweet portal pic lolz

Quote: hopefully in next release they have editable so can add new types of resources. I believe you can already do this. In Base.rte/Ammo.ini, there are particles that are called "10 oz Gold Brick" and "24 oz Gold Brick". Mess with that and you could make a new resource with medium modding skills.

Gold is hardcoded within the game.
Future builds may contain more resources, but that hasn't been explicitly confirmed or denied. There's ample reasoning behind it going either way, so who knows.
Regardless, it will probably be editable in future builds. Data seems to want to expose nearly all of the game logic to modders in future, which should turn out pretty awesome.
EDIT: Cavecricket those are throwbacks to an ancient part of CC. Gold collection used to be more difficult; you would mine something, then as you got gold it would turn into 10 and 24 oz bricks in your inventory, which would then be thrown into rockets and delivered upward.
It interrupted the flow of the game too much, so it was scrapped. Editing those would not change anything.

WRONG You can change the value of gold.
Go to the materials.ini Go to the gold entry Change DensityKGPerPixel = 0.02834952 To something higher Go mine ??? Profit!
Although you're right in that it is the only resource material.

Okay sorry if this is a bit noobish but whenever I change the value it won't let me save the ini. What do I do?

Make sure it isn't write protected. As in, right click on it, select properties, and see if "Read only" is unchecked.
