Grif's making a faction!
And it's gonna KICK YOUR ♥♥♥♥ ASS. Quote: I need ideas for a faction that is based heavily on the concept of teleportation. I've already made the one soldier, but I'm planning more units, vehicles, custom teleporter weapons, and etc.
So, ideas for what you'd like in such a faction? Think an entire faction made of the Chrono Legionnaires in Red Alert 2.
I'm thinking of a lineup of several soldiers, each based around the central teleporter weapon/tool. Say, an enginer class, with timed munitions that just WIPE whatever is in their blast radius. Then some kind of support class with a heavy machine gun, some other teleporter based weapon (possibly a duplicate of the chrono legionnaire weapon; holds something in stasis and then removes it after a time); and then an assault class, light and fast with an SMG/assault rifle class weapon.
I'm considering a crab as a vehicle class; a giant walking tank with teleporter weapons and a variety of other systems. When gibbed/on a key press it opens up and spits out a few soldiers.
I'm not sure what the craft would be; maybe a small teleporter pod that can be moved small distances after dropping to the ground, and a larger pod that shuttles things between you and the Tradestar?
Not sure.
Almost all of this is Lua reliant and thus the idea quest, rather than a hunt for coding techniques.

Well, I am gonna update this post with more ideas as the come to me, But if your asking for ideas....
What about a weapon that teleports and enemy's shot to an Ice planet, Instantly freezing them to death. So, You shoot them, They disappear and then reappear a few seconds later covered in ice and ♥♥♥♥.

well, you can already make a telleport craft now; by making a invisable particle comming down (fast) , exploding and letting your unit(s) out of it (with a animation of telleporting).

2 maps linked to eachother with a portal, opens whole new gameplay etc. a gun that shoots bullets a few meters away from the front (to go trough concrete and bunkers). a digger that digs a few meters underneeth you, and your still getting the gold. a rocket, that if you press a button, it will get back to its normall landing spot. teleporting landmines into the field. telleporting bunkermodules into the game to make a base while in battle. telleport ground away for a few seconds and then put it back, so units get stuck in it (or can be free'd). telleporting the brain away from its place to another bunker. make a telleporter from the field to a black hole, so people get sucked in and die. well.... uhh... those are my ideas, cant get anymore....
oh wait, one more. a prison where people get telleported in by you

Craft: Think the crobo-telepod, but on landing, crab legs deploy, and it walks around. It can then 'Create' actors, by shooting teleportation nodes which allow more troops to enter. [See: The clone tank mod, that actually fired things that gibbed into clones. [Forgot the exact name, flesh tanks?]]
Actor idea: An assassin type, which has a small dagger, and on alt-fire [if possible] teleports a small distance, and turns to kill. See: The assassin rush [?] in Fable.
Heavy weapon idea: A rocket launcher, that gibs into a sort of area, and everything in that area will be teleported up, or down. Into the air, to fall to their death; or into the ground, along with a grenade to kill them [Just in-case they live]. See: Chromosphere effect.
Bomb: Plant it on a wall, and it creates a portal. Walk up to it, go to the other side of the wall. Used for bunker penetration, also can be shot for a brute force entry.
Tank/Heavy Trooper: Slows time for everything, except the tank, which can then get past emplacements, kill things, or cause general damage.
Grenade: Stasis on a particular actor, making him not able to move, but also protects him, Starcraft style. Also, maybe move him out of the way, or make him not collide?
Big Grenade: Slows time in an area. Used as a shield, to either slow projectiles as they hit, or stop an enemy from running, or shooting.
I have more, but tell me what you think on these Grif.

A gun that teleports a unit 300 pixels into the sky. A unit that teleports a part of a unit 300 pixels into the sky.

Anyway, a transposition gun would be nice- swap object A with object B. Hit a riot shield at the enemy's foot, then hit a dropship. Venn- could be the opposite of the up-by-300 gun.

I'll be the first to say it...portal gun. This pack should also include an actor who gibs into slight (weaker) variations of him/herself until he/she dies as per the idea of 'multiple selves' introduced by quantum physics.
