Since this is my first post I might be flamed to hell, but moving on. I am a huge Dune fan, and since this is almost a perfect outlet for modding, since coding/spriting isn't as hard as in some other games. But before I start on the serious spriting I have one quick question. Is it relatively exceptable to recolor/etc. others works as long as credit is given? Once I finish some of the sprites I will post. Thanks in advance.

As long as you give credit, no one really cares. Those who do care aren't really worth caring about.
