So I'm making a new bunker mod and I've got it all finished except for one thing...
...the background.

I'm using Photoshop CS3 and it seems to me that all the Base.rte background files are just darker versions of their foreground counterparts, but for some reason I can't figure out how to do this. Could somebody, very simply, explain how this is done? I would be quite happy if you did.

EDIT: Nevermind I figured it out, and now I feel like an idiot.

Also, could you post how you did it? Some people later, might like to know, and then if you have the information here, they wouldn't have to make a whole new thread. :D

Well I can post it anyways. Press Ctrl+U and set the darkness from there. It is the lowermost slider if I remember right.

Don't use Ctrl+U because it Fs up the background as well, and since you can't use layers on an indexed .bmp (which you have to use or Cortex flips it's ♥♥♥♥ and crashes) then it's useless. Right now I just lower the brightness and apply a cool blue filter to the image. But if anybody knows how Data did it that would probably be easier.

It doesn't matter if it is indexed or RGB. If you have the right colours at the beginning, using RGB, and THEN index the colours and save, it doesn't mess the colours up.
