I am requesting that someone writes up an UPDATED tutorial on modding. A full one so that it can be easier for all of us new modders to figure out what is going on. Yes there is a wikipedia one. No it does not contain any information. |

Well I think the one that is posted now is still sufficient to learn all the basics of CC modding all that actually changed by my understanding is the names of some of the things. |

Go to #LERNIN on IRC for some modding help. I agree the the wiki needs fixing though. |

The CC wikipedia is completely bust for me. If I search for anything nothing comes up. Only says that no title or text with that word exists. |

Hmm, looks like someone has been deleting stuff in there... I could have sworn i saw something inside the Heavy Digger link. (Do not take this as a keyword to start throwing around accusations, i don't even know if it's true what i say!) Anyways, if you have some questions regarding modding, send me a PM with them... I won't bite, don't worry |

Yeah it would be sufficient if there was something at all. |

The easiest way to learn CC modding isn't to read it up before starting. It is to mess around until you get the hang of it and then reading up on the "advanced" modding techniques like the Abomb, infinite gibs, door mines and walk paths |

I've been looking at some code for a long time now because I'm trying to create a spider walker actor. I have been messing around with things a lot but the problem of what does what is still there. Could just be me but there are a lost of "atom groups" and other objects in the code that I am still not sure what they do. Yes you could send me a detailed description but when there are a lot of new modders asking questions wont that get annoying after awhile? I have changed variables a lot within the code yet because of the size and minor changes that they do it has been difficult to see what does what. Also I am confused about how .bmp images are translated as to what part of the image goes where and what moves. I am just thinking that it would just be easier for not only the vets but also for us new modders. Remember this is just a request. |

If something is hard to understand right away, it's probably an advanced thing. XD But just so you know, Atomgroup has something do to with the collisions and how it reacts to stuff. Like if the atom group on a rocket leg is set wrong it will probably float in mid air just above the ground. |
