I am trying to make a spider walker with very long legs. What I am confused about though is how does the game determine how high up the central body of the actor is based off of the length of the legs? does it go by the .bmp image of the leg? or is there a variable somewhere that states basically that "the foot is here"?

also will a longer leg allow the actor to climb over taller obstacles?

LegOffsets/AtomGroups are what you need to fiddle with.

Wish I could help more, but this is the reason I've never made an actor.

Dragster made a WW2 mech thing, I suggest you talk to him about it.
