However, you have to make a whole new way of playing the game, like a mario scene. I had an idea for a mario scene once:

Marios feet emit particles that instakill the enemies. The enemies sides and feet emit particles that instakill mario. See where I'm going? Using Gotcha!'s mario scene, one could make a fully working Mario level.

pfft, I don't need a fancy mario mod to stomp enemies in the face. lol
But I think that to win, they would need to be a lot more creative than just mario.

Xextredge isn't inventive, but hundreds of people are sucking Grif's cock.

Xextredge is inventive, as it completely changes the original CC into a space shooter. It may not be an original idea, but it is inventive.
To clear it up, this post has nothing to do with the contest.

Also Grif =/= numgun

You don't need inventiveness to win this contest. Remember, it's a bunch of 10-30 year old guys voting on their favorite mod. (yes, there are some older guys and women, but not primarily) They gravitate to entertainment value like flies to a zapper. Cater to your demographic.

Hi again,

@Duh102 : thanks for the answers.

Edit : Should each mod/participant remane anonymous?

It's not unique but it's definitely inventive. If I made a list of the number of hacky things I'm doing, it'd be ♥♥♥♥ miles long.

Also, while I do dislike your continued insistence on posting absolute drivel (this latest post included) I see no reason to personally attack me. Do you see any massive fifty page Xextredge hype thread? Hardly. I happened to make an interesting mod and released some things. People latched onto it because it was interesting, not because it was made by me. I dunno if you've noticed but a lot of my mods do pretty shitty.

-snip-
Xexetredge is probably the most inventive thing that's going to come out of CC except CC its self. I at first didn't realise Grif was working on it with LFOW when I saw screenshots, and I creamed my pants all the same. Boo-hoo, they're making something that's successful and awesome. Also, due to popular demand, here are some vulgarities:
♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ damn foot wank balls twat.

Yes. Don't give anyone (except me, if you really, really want to show off, and I mean like exploding from excitement want) any idea of what you're developing. We want to keep voting as unbiased as possible.

EDIT: You know, I wasn't planning on entering this, but I might. I won't win, but it'd be fun.

Yes you may. They're pretty much just Base.rte stuff with explanations built in, so it's not coding anything for you.

if I understood correctly we can use any file which came with the game, for example, I can use any file from coalition.rte or scene.rte?

i only have 1 week to compeate, (my computer has a glitch with the screen (the backlight gives out) so i have to send it in before the warrenty voids. but dont wory, ill still have an entry in.)

Extend the contest then. this is mostly between you and grif anyway so I'm sure it'll be ok if another week was added. duh even said it was ok for people to ask if the contest could be longer.

Just a reminder, MC5 starts later this week on Friday, and TCC ends Sunday after next. If you have yet to get going on your TC, you might want to start.

I'll be honest, I'm not looking forward to the results of this contest. I think we'll get some basic games/concepts out of it, but not much more than that without additional work post-contest.
TC's to me are things that take a very long time to polish out properly. I'm hoping I'm wrong and will be pleasantly surprised.

Maybe it'd be good to get an idea of who's actually looking to enter and is working on an entry.

On another note, I'm really hoping MC5 will 1) Allow team entries, 2) Be as long as this contest, and 3) Churn out some badass mods because of 1 and 2.

1. Yes. No sharing between teams though. Once someone is on one team, no switching. Team registration would be nice.
2. A little shorter, 2 weeks. As always, throw some posts at me if you want longer, I'm flexible.
3. That'd be cool.
