tech. they're basically humanoid. think the fremen from Dune for body type and clothing, but with weapons that are at least activated by making a musical motion (plucking a string, moving a bow over something) or that use sound energy to destroy targets. but not just a violin with a barrel, ya know? forms that only tangentially resemble something musical but are first and foremost weapons. I'll sketch something later to better explain, thinking in words can only get you so far.

Re: The Crow, The Bear and the Serpent - WIP 3-faction pack.
i'm thinking they're part of one large underground metropolis, but they've reclaimed some of the surface of their world and they've become to populate space stations in orbit. I'm thinking only one nation populating one continent with an underground capital and orbiting defenses. This way each layer of their defenses can be conquered by only one of the three tribes. I want to show them to be a beautiful people coming out of the ashes. Again, this is a tomorrow-concern, not a today-concern. EDIT: almost forgot, some un-labeled serpent mech sketches. It's not in the state that i usually like to show work, but whatever. I doubt that i'll work on this a whole lot in the coming weeks. I'm just about to sign a lease on a new place, trying to buy a car and register for class, etc. I guess I've got too many "today-concerns" to f*ck with. You guys have fun with it though.

Re: The Crow, The Bear and the Serpent - WIP 3-faction pack.
those drawings are pre-preliminary and by no means final or detailed. i'm getting forms down. As far as the footsoldiers go, i am thinking respirators that look WWI era, but with some added techno-flair like a glow or a new mystery shape attached. I'm puzzling all these things out, i really only posted those because a) it might be interesting to some to see where these ideas start and, with other followup drawings, how the design evolves over time b) because i just didn't have anything else and felt compelled to keep putting up material. Since people have begun to want to contribute to the design aspect of this project, consider all drawings i put up that are like this to be jumping-off points. Don't think of it as my drawing, think of it as your canvas. That sounded really lame and "art school" but you know what i mean. I want to not only bring my own creativity to bear, but also to foster creativity in the community. So get creative! You want it steampunk, make it steampunk. You want to make it sleek, go for it. Oh yeah, as per source material for the 4th faction: wikipedia is your closest friend. most of those have pictures and they all look really bizarre. When searching i think i found the real-world inspiration for these people (who may have inspired the fremen, as they are very similar). Also, they apparently named a volkswagen after them.

Out of these three factions I like the look of the crow the most, so I did this helmet. I've posted it here for anyone who wants to use it.

Nice! Exalion is currently winning. I had a glorious relief period today and did another ideas-sheet, and wrapped up the serpent mech pretty well, i think. I named it serpico because of the first four letters. It is not a detective. There is no cause for alarm. Attachment: SerpentSerpico plus smallarms.jpg

please stop asking for my permission and just do whatever you want with this!
Do you have a mod you're working on? incorporate an idea from this one (with credit, of course). Want to help out and contribute? I've already done the rallying call, everyone is free to do anything to help.
Seriously, i'm like a 30% share-holder in this. I'm incapable of doing 70% of the job, that's up to you guys (any and all of you). I'll make suggestions and guidance, but that's it.
