numgun do you still have the scene I sent you last time you were working on this if not I can send it to you again and I am working on makeing a bigger form maybe for a team deathmatch or CTF style map!

Yeah I still have all the scenes people sent me, including yours.
And as before, I'm open for new maps so send me any cool arena style maps and I'll put em in the tournament part of this mod.

Wait, Drunken missiles? Do you mean that they go in a straight line, or that they fly around randomly?

Probably straight line. I've never played the original ballistics mod that this is based on.

Fly around randomly, in the original sometimes they flew so randomly they span around and could hit the shooter. The link's in the OP if you want to find out more...

ahahah. nummy, i have some awesomely sexy green gas sprites if you want them, as long as you dont mind looking the same as my zombie mod. there is a screenshot somewhere in the epic moments thread.. oh but the attachment is gone. hold on, i'll grab a screenie or 3.
the sprites are from metal slug, so they're the property of SNK, but i have them all nice and packaged and whatnot, plus scaled to different sizes. PM me if youre interested.

Heh, I guess they do look wierd. I'll try to fiddle with them to make em better.
That gas explosion was created by the T10 Toxin grenade. The idea was to make a crazy burst of gas balls like some of those old "Tear gas" mods that spewed tons of smoke balls that killed actors almost instantly. Except mine is more "controlled" and less laggy. I first though of an area denial bomb(Pinned emitter that spews crap for a couple of seconds so nobody goes there), but the FP7 Incendiary grenade is pretty much that. But then again, it only stays on the ground. Dont know, might change it or not, but the sprites will remain mine.

Then besides that I'm thinking of a craft design for these guys.
I need some sort of "personal rocket" type ship. First I thought of an R-Type style badass craft, but those would fail with current CC possibilities.

I dont want a dropship, nor a droppod, but a small rocket that could bring and get a merc on and off a planets surface. My mind is pretty blank, so you guys are free to suggest rocket designs.


Other than that, this mod is getting close to the beta release I talked about.
The merc and the guns are completed minus a few random balance related tweaks and bugs. Wont be making any release dates because I've got tons of important RL stuff going on so they might crush anything I plan pretty easily.
But maybe within a few weeks.

fair enough then about the gas :)
heres an idea i was playing around with. if you dont want to use it, i'll probably make a walker tank with it at some point, but thanks for the inspiration. i used a bit of the mammoth tank, you should be able to see it, but it was fun.
good to hear this might be out some time soon :P

on the bottom, or underneath the huge armour panels. it was actually intended initially to fold down, revealing the doors, but i'll be shot if i make that animation. the way i see it working now is the armour could telescope down into itself, exposing doors. if it worked that way the thrusters could stay constantly "running" while rocket itself was held up (physically) on invisi-legs (TM), and then something more reliable with Lua later. once your mercenery was out, the armour could slide back up and the rocket could scoot off into space.
if the doors were at the bottom, the thrusters could be on either side of the hatch (you could just copy across the exhaust from the left to the right) and the merc could be dropped out when the rocket was at an appropriate height, dropship style.. hopefully he wouldnt get toasted.
anyway, im off for a week or so, be nice to come back to B23, or at least a deathmatch mode. if my little rocket helped a little, hurrah. dont miss me too much. :-o
