I've been working on Xextredge for a good long while more than that. way to tell me ♥♥♥♥ I already know, cap'n that was never my intention nor my goal jesus christ, lafe is saying he's capable of decent programming and I'm giving him the chance to prove it. that seemed interesting enough of a competition theme that I asked duh102 about it, and he was also for it. no vendettas going on in here, except yours against me.

[ninja's] Also, if you read the original thread, lafe was the one who suggested a contest, not Grif. Grif suggested it would be a Lua contest here in Cortex. And here we are. Now please don't keep going over and over things like this. I'm considered a nice guy, but I'm getting tired of this. Every time you've posted in my contest threads, your arguments spanned multiple pages.

Aaaaand in the red corner, we have the man who spits in the face of punctuation and spelling! It's the ludicrously lithe and lamentable LAFE!
Aaaaand in the blue corner, we have the man who spits in the face of just about anybody! It's the grandiose and gargantuan god of genocide: GRIF!
Aaaaand in the grey corner, we have the man who spits in the face of reason and sensibility! It's the agile and adroit artiste administrator himself: ALENTH!
Aaaaand in the yellow corner, we have the man who spits in the face of lafe and paul! It's the tremendous and terrifying ten-inch tower of power: THUNDERTOES!
Aaaaand in the green corner, we have the man who spits in the faces of small kittens! It's the mysogynistic mysterious and mighty master of maltreatment: MAIL2345!
May the best man win!

May the best man win! Anyone who makes a Total Conversion out of this wins the vote of possibly anyone. Or at least my vote. Because every vote counts!

Re: Total Conversion Contest
As long as your TC loads from a single .rte and doesn't fiddle with Base.rte, you can do whatever the hell you want with your modding environment. As in, it must be distributed like a normal mod, in .rte form. If you want to test from a Cortex that has no vanilla Cortex things, go right ahead.

That's nowhere in the rules. I mean, seriously, nowhere. Did you not just notice Duh pointing out what a total conversion means? Just make it a damn campaign mission, that's not the focus of the contest. Actually that's what the whole thing's about... Total conversion definition that duh provided (and I did read): "A total conversion is a mod of an existing game that (usually) replaces almost all of the artistic assets in the original game, and sometimes core aspects of gameplay, in some cases creating a game in a completely different genre from the original." ...you see what you are talking about is not converting ANYTHING if it's just a mod add-on that ADDS extra gameplay via a mission/campaign level, now you could try to argue that you're giving your mission/campaign a new genre, but your not CHANGING the genre your adding it. perhaps you'll want to specify greater detail on what you think a total conversion is? or I'm thinking you should call it partial conversion.

But this is going to change how the game is played. Not what actors you use or what weapons are shot.

Re: Total Conversion Contest
I'll give you that you aren't converting the GUI. Fine, I'll add on to the description in the OP. I'm pretty sure nobody would be confused about the two except those being overly literal, but w/e.

I didn't specify the name Total Conversion, that's Duh's business.
