Try to match them to the released Orks, in that they beat the crap out of the underpowered Space Marines we all know and love. Follow the gameplay and fiction, in any case- their guns should be long-range, accurate and somewhat over-powered, but the Tau themselves should be frail as hell and have no close-range capabilities.

The frail as hell part doesn't sound too right, but I guess that's the only way to weaken their close range combat in CC.
Also, we need drones. Which would probably takes little spriting. Mods like the floating bomb gun and the hovering drone proves possible, it should be worth trying.

T'au are weaker in combat than Imperial Guardsmen. The only thing that keeps them alive is their armor and their gun. If they were armed with the same gear as the Imperial Guard, well, let's just say that they wouldn't have made it past 3rd edition... They are skilled with their guns, except they mainly rely on their technology. The Imperium actually has better technology, but the T'au equipment is safer and more efficient, while Imperial technology is generally more unstable and powerful. (Plasma guns vs. Pulse rifle)

Mods like the floating bomb gun and the hovering drone proves possible, it should be worth trying. why not make it AHuman with a jetpack, but make its body and head overlap, and give it really long, null legs, and maybe use single pixels for feet, with a glow(null) on it to make them invisible. Then you'd have it floating above ground at all times, but you could fly it in a controllable fashion. also, attachables FTW

Okey i now i need to make some more weapons (any ideas ?) . And make a pathfinder + commando . And a shield-shoulder ofcourse .

ok what have we got here...
Photon grenades: use sonic waves to bash enimes about
EMP grenades: anti-veachle (can't spell for sh*t)
Burst cannon: think gattling but with three barrles
Flamer
and thats it for just Tau infantary, I'm using the older codex btw... For a commando you can use the XV15 stealth suits

XV8's are about the only thing that can keep tough enemys away from Tau gun lines unless you want to swamp them with tons of kroot. Give them a fusion blaster and missle pod was my fav tactic.
So after you do the fire warriors, whats next?
