I have an idea to make cc more user friendly(might be hard might not). i have noticed many mods that say "to fight the (FACTION) just erase (x) and replace with (y) in the activities folder. why not have it so that when you start up a skirmish before you pick difficulty it asks you who you want to fight.

So we could include

-standard(what the game already does)

-all of the vanilla factions( dummy or ronin or coalition

-and once you install a mod just let it use the .rte files to show what mods you have and let you chose one to fight(AAL :P )

That kind of stuff would need to edit what the EXE's code.
And the only one capable of that is Data.

It is really easy to install, but it will overwrite some core files for the game and that may crash some clients, regardless of how many times I test it myself... If you want to install it, just copy/paste all the content from the Install folder to your game's base directory containing Cortex Command.exe, if asked to overwrite files, press yes, but remember to make a backup of your game's directory before adding this mod :)

Does this require a fresh install of CC btw?

:-? Sorry, created the download in a hurry, now it should work just fine! And you don't have to have a clean install of CC (It should work, but that's in theory)

Would be nice, if some of you could suggest good file hosting servers for mirrors? 8)

Anyway have got loads of work right now to do, so will add new mods and content to this pack, so would love to see some feedback about the concept and would really love some comments on what can be reorganized in the build menu, to make it even better!

Mediafire should do you fine. That or Filefront or ModDB. I dunno what the filesize limit on the CC moddb is, but that too.

And none of us knows how CC's hexadecimals work.
So therefore, only data can only edit it in a manner that adds things and features.

EDIT: In my somewhat crazily humble thought, these maps should get in. These maps are completly beautiful.

Ask Meleon first though. (If he even visits these forums anymore)
They're his maps.

Roy-G-Biv,

I am sorry because of the fact, that I am only HUMAN, and I just don't have so much time to add them in one time, I will try to add almost every map, that will not be buggy, and if possible, then I will fix the maps, that get wrong BG etc, but that will take time, so once in a while I will add files to the pack, and release a larger version of this mod after that (approximately 30 more maps and many, many more mods), it is just that I have only 2 hands, and it will take time... I packed the progress of what I have done so far, so you can actually see that in action, but that is just a demonstration how it will be, so I can make some modifications to this system before adding new mods to it!

There are very cool maps out here, that I know, but anyway thanks for the reminder :hat:

P.S. gtaiiilc I will add some music from the links you provided in the next release also ;)

Post Re: [MOD] Cortex Command - Advanced Mod
It turns out that I've already done something like this for my own personal use (person fave all time mods):

//weapons
AK47 Bayonet --NOT working! mod loads but emitter is playing up.
AK47 Exploding Bullets
Exploding Buck
Flechettes
GML
LiquidFlame
OGD
ScrapCannon
ScrapCarbine
Shotshock
Vandar

//actors
Crate
DreadNought
HerbertCombat
KGB
Oyster
Scrapbotnu
Scrapbotnuair
Tank Walker

take and use whatever you wishI suppose, if you need any help I'm the guy to talk to (master renamer and reorganiser)

Also I suggest you use .ogg instead of .wav, drastically reduces file size, I'll upload a small wav to ogg conversion tool tomorow (it's almost 1 am, school night).

robolee,
Nice, that you came along, and as I said, I'm new here, didn't know much about the mods that can be found here, but after searching the first pages of the forum with empty hands I started this work, and it is very nice, that you have informed me, that you were making something similar, and well didn't want any special rte folder name, so I also stuck with Mods.rte, and we all know what the word Mods mean, so easy to understand for all of us :) ,

Anyway gonna check your pack soon, and I think, that we will manage to think of something out here:), because also I think, that even DSTech files included in this package should be sorted out, and left the best of the best, because when it comes to quantity it may hit quality.
