Re: looking for help (whitebot brainbot)
I took off the arms. Notice the "NO ARM!" notification above the bot's head.
I'll see what I can do about the Stand Paths. Maybe I could make them more like the Coalition Heavy's?
Also, I'll check out those sprites after school.

Re: looking for help (whitebot brainbot)
Here it is, I got all the sounds from the same 10-second sound clip, using audacity. A bit like I made the firesounds. See, I work hard. If you need any firesounds, Zalo, I got a whole list of them lined up.

Re: looking for help (whitebot brainbot)
when ever you get out of school today Zalo here's a quick arm sample i made i only changed the shoulder pad as The Decaying Soldat suggested http://files.filefront.com/13719177the bottom right image is the newest and the top left is the old ok this is another shoulder test http://files.filefront.com/13719899left side is with sovietcommando's shoulder and the right is with it edited to show more of the blue ring... personally i like the right side ooh and FZ you didn't send any sounds with your jet pack

Re: looking for help (whitebot brainbot)
I asked Manticore to clean up any sprites Zalo needs fixed. Thought maybe we could use some new blood working on this. I haven't heard from him yet though
I am in no way giving up I just think this project would benefit from having him helping
-correction he's willing to help and i gave him a copy of the sprites and briefed him on what people seemed to not like about mine

Re: looking for help (whitebot brainbot)
I still need to get around to making it stand correctly, but I think I might be able to fix the arm problem.
The way the arm is oriented is defined by the gun that it is holding. Therefore I'd have to change the offsets on each of the guns individually. This would also mean that the bot is bound to the guns. It cannot have them knocked off, or anything like that.

zalo wrote: This would also mean that the bot is bound to the guns. It cannot have them knocked off, or anything like that. as they should be ... sounds like you are doing some awesome work i can't wait to see some of it Well since I'm not doing anything else right now, it occurred to me that with nova's permission and a few more weapons we could turn this into a full pack. So i started making sprites and writing up ideas. Let me know if these sound like a good idea. -mini black hole gun a gun that fires a bomb that becomes a small short lived black hole -hologram gun this gun fires a glow effect actor with fake arms (so he can't use guns) this actor is automatically set to brain hunt and doesn't gib when killed it just disappears. this is meant to only distract the enemy -prism gun this is a laser gun that acts like a flak cannon by firing a prism ahead of the beam so at a distance the beam spreads -bouncing plasma ball gun shoots a ball of plasma that skips across the terrain. Fires like a grenade launcher -push grenade Shortly after thrown this grenade generates a push force around itself pushing objects and actors away till it is destroyed.... can be used to keep enemies from entering your base -splash grenade waits till an enemy is near then explodes into a burst of acid all of these would need to be balanced carefully to cc's weapons but i think these might be cool. currently i have made 2 of the gun sprites

Re: looking for help (whitebot brainbot)
Blarg. Sorry, Salty, but I give up on dis ting.
The arms are whack. I could overcome them by combining the Arm Sprites and the Weapon Sprites into the Weapon but I'm just lazy.
And for all those other things, any other competent modder can do.*
But, unlike all those lame abandoners, I'll actually release what I've got done.
*FlammableZombie doesn't count. Sorry FZ, but you are pretty bad at this.

Re: looking for help (whitebot brainbot)
I have another idea: Pinned concrete gun. The concrete pixels would be MOSRots with a restheshold of 0.

Re: looking for help (whitebot brainbot)
Well, unless we can get a coder for this soon, and by we I mean you, as I no longer seem to be active in this, this project will die like all the rest. Maybe we can leave the sprites if it does fail, for some other guy to pick it up.

Did Zalo really just give up? ZALO? The best coder on this forum was just defeated by an armgun? What has this world come to.
