Post Re: The Crow, The Bear and the Serpent... RECALLED TO LIFE!!
New beta! New Crow! New weapons! New complete and utter fabrications! Also Mac-friendly, by virtue of every weapon being silent.

The carbine's slower and has more capacity, I tested the long rifle and the accuracy is still pixel perfect, and the SMGs are now meaner. If another power boost is needed, I'm going to have to start shying away from the completely blunt bullets approach. As is, a single bullet weighs 1.5 kilograms: A little more than a medieval longsword. I love the knockback effect on all of this high-mass weaponry, but we're approaching a point where the recoil will be beyond even Rule of Cool Hollywood-style physics. As is, the Slug Thrower firing directly downwards can actually lift the Crow off the ground.

Also made a mockup of the new Javelin. There are still bugs to be worked out, but at least it doesn't rip your arm off.

Also also: Just a simple base assault/defense is fine for our mockup mission. It's just something to help us get a feel for how this'll work, right?

EDIT: New version.

Recoil control emitters. You can keep the slight to medium kick while shooting out a 500kg slug.

What he means is you fire an emmiter with the mass you want the recoil to be whic emits the correct round.

Tried the shooting emitters trick before, in order to get those fancy muzzle smoke effects. It ended with the Crow shooting his own limbs off. Frequently.

As is it should be fine anyways. The bullets are probably at the highest power you could want, seeing as the last time I tested it on another Crow all that was left after a clip was a puddle of blood and two feet. I just wanted to play up the gun moving into Devil May Cry physics, because frankly I think it's absolutely hilarious. Hilariously awesome.

It's a gun, Frank. A gun that shoots swords.

I think you're meant to do extra seperation when using the trick so you don't move past the emitter and shoot yourself in the back...

It's like they made bullets out of neutron stars or something. And I absolutely love them.

A bullet made of neutron star would weigh approximately 800,000,000,000 kg. I dare someone to make a gun that shoots Neutron Star bullets, they would shred the map in one shot... in fact, they'd screw up the gravitational field of the planet...

Consider it done. Or done close enough as CC will allow, not sure if Mass will take that many zeros. /Offtopic

You can usually alleviate the shooting-your-flying-self-in-the-face-with-your-own-gun by setting the EmissionOffset to be 5 or 6 pixels out, more if you expect the gun to be moving around fast.
Code snippet for the emitter:
Code:
   EmissionOffset = Vector
      X = 5
      Y = 0

Quick update, the javelin is actually usable now. Doesn't act much like a spear because only pixels or particles can actually penetrate bodies, but it does have enough impulse damage behind it to rip off some legs. Also, the explosion actually comes out of the blade now.

not liking the fact that they and the weapons are massive. but other than that its pretty damn good.
-needs sounds
-shrink em(if you really want to)
-needs a digger(as they are an underground based team i would think that they would have an awesome one)

hey, thanks.

Also, i'm typing from a friend's computer because mine crashed. Like, hardcore crashed. It's getting repaired, but i won't have access to any of my Crow/Bear/Serpent stuff for 5-7 business days (in theory), nor will i have a machine to play CC on and test the most recent build.

I haven't drawn anything in over a week, so i'm jonesing to work on this again once i have my laptop back.
