Re: Templar Knights
Been editing the helmet a bit, damn it's been a while. I'll work on the rest of you'll allow me.
But first is the matter of what you want them to be. I agree with RRR1 that scifi Templarish guys would fit in with Vanilla CC and other mods better (though I think arrow guns are stupid). In fact I'm interested in a whole faction if that's the case. The side effect of that would be that it is really a perversion of your original request and might not be to your liking. If you intend to smash your guys up against Duh's medieval guys, that would probably be pretty fun and cool.
If you decide to go with futuristic awhile ago I had an idea for a Witch Hunters faction and a corresponding undead horror movie type faction. These guys could be the heavy support armed with giant lasers that look like lances.
One thing though: I reserve the right to quit working on this whenever I feel like it.

He's actually getting helped by a tonne of people. I'd say that's a pretty good prize when you compare it to our usual treatment.

Re: Templar Knights
Uh, thank you for your kind comments, haha. Thinking about it know, I'll go sci-fi . That probably means changing the gold-silver color scheme. Should definitely be white, black, red, and blue in there. Gold would work too I guess. And I like the helmet I posted before, and I'll post it here again, but it seems I'm having some trouble using it. Whenever it's used, there appears a pink line around the helmet, when the pink should (I think it should) be transparent. For whatever reason, it's not. I'll also post my torso sprite and start working on revamping the current sprites as well as making new sprites. Some futuristic ideas: S.h.i.e.l.d. - Super-heated/Subzero heater(type of shield) inter-electron/internal electromagnetic protector. (Cliche, I know, but w/e for now) S.l.i.c.e. - Subzero Lithium internal/inter/(etc.) c___ emitter B.o.w. - Bohrium(a non-existant element) Osmium(super strong platinum) W______ B.o.m.b. - Big Owch Making Boom I don't think that those will actually be the names or items found in-game, but you know, it gets the creative juices flowing. Thank you guys that are helping me, and remember, were goin' futuristic now.

Re: Templar Knights
Excellent. I think I'll go for space marine-y (though maybe not AS bulky), is that ok? I think the color scheme and the look of the helmet and the crosses can stay the same; that's what makes it a templar and it doesn't really conflict with scifi ness.
As for weapons: a shield for sure, but a sword seems a bit dated. I hate to borrow so heavily from WH, but perhaps a chainsword? I don't think a literal crossbow will fit in- but really all you need is the spirit when you do this sort of thing. I think a gun shaped like a cross bow would work. A large ball shaped explosive is definitely a go.
Here's the newest helmet.

Re: Templar Knights
I'd like to keep a sword, if just for backup.
I like the idea of a crossbow shaped gun. It'll probably shoot lazers, as I am thinking most of the guns in this mod will. I like the design of your helmet, but it needs to fit the new color scheme, I'll oblige.
Edit:Didn't come out as well as I had hoped. I want to try and continue on at least my helmets shape, though, as I feel it better encompasses what I'd like. Take a look at it, see if you can fix it.
Edit2: Made another. Better?

Re: Templar Knights
Hello, first of all i really like the idea, and since you want them with a sci fi theme, i can suggest base all the melee weapons in energy? take for example the katana made by numgum for BW (sorry if is not well explained, bad english)

Also, since katanas own, they might have some.

Re: Templar Knights
I'm sorry but I'm not really sure what your sprite is there. Is it a helmet? So just a question, who's doing what? I'll offer my spriting services, as well as my minor ini ability. But before I sprite, I need to know what it's going to be. If lasers are the name of the game, a glowsmith is probably needed. Which is just as well as personally, I don't really think energy weapons would mesh well with Templars. I think cold steel and fire is really what old Templar are all about, and there is no need to subvert that to make it more scifi-y. In terms of the Templar itself, what should it look like? I'm interested in doing some sort of heavy shoulders and maybe heavy chest plate type dealio, but more traditional would also work. Here are two designs from google that I like. http://templarschat.com/img/Templar_Kni ... _Dress.jpghttp://images.elfwood.com/art/j/a/jace/ ... emplar.jpg (this is a really shitty picture but try to look past that and think about the design) Although you have to keep in mind that capes are not possible.

Re: Templar Knights
I get what you mean Contrary. However, I like the idea of new-age knights, and I just see energy weapons fitting perfectly with that. We can, however, once I learn how to mod, try both. Yup those are helmets. ABOUT COLORSI don't know. I mean, I like a bluish-grey feel, but that's strict Darkstorm territory as I see it. The current colors? I guess they would work, but I can't get it out of my mind that they're old fashioned. OHM, THE COLORS ARE NOT OLD FASHIONED, JUST THE STYLES. So I think, we will be going with the Red and White. Since this is my most recent edit, ignore all I say about blueish grey metal and blue highlights and basically that entire color scheme of everything down there. DAMMIT. Not only do the sprites look flat, but now they are in the wrong color scheme. Seriously. Halp. Thanks for helping me sprite Contrary! NOTE: I LIKE YOUR FIRST HELMET DESIGN THE BEST. I came up quick with a sword design (use the sword on the left for reference, I personally like the left hilt more the but right one is okay too, also the top isn't supposed to be flat.) If you have some time, I'd really like to see what you can sprite up! Also, I like the pics. I think it gives us good reference, like I like the gauntlets in the first one. They would, however, have to look more like (and A LOT better than) the first attached pic. ADDRESSING ALL READERS!!!!!!!Which helmet is better? 4 or 5? UPDATE: I have decided to use the darker helmet for regular troops and the brighter one for elites. All credit to Contrary for the initial sprite. EDIT NUMBER 17 18 19 20 21 22(Seriously, I keep making stuff to add ) I slightly improved helmet (#6), and the small helmet on left will be for the recruit troops. Also, the last helmet (#7) & Torso will be for Archers/Crossbowmen/Gun-Infantry(After I rework colors.) DUDES, WE ARE FINALLY GETTING SOMEWHERE (at least with spriting, barely an ini's done yet haha)Just relooked at helmets. I really like the design, but it looks way too 2D. Looking back at that first helmet given by Contrary, that looks way better. I'll start recolouring that from scratch. Otherwise, halp? Wait, no reason to recolor. I'll just see if I can do anything to make it better for me.

I like your ideas. Might I suggest that you grab a pencil and paper and sketch out the characters first (as they would appear in game), before you start spending a huge amount of time on spriting? Seems like this has the potential to be a great mod, but some groundwork would be very benificial (in my humble opinion).

Re: Templar Knights
Don't worry, I've got all the groundwork one my side.
Also, Finally came up with a properly colored, nicely shaded helm, thanks to the help of Contrary. You guys like?
