Re: Don't Bother Spriting
Ding ding!
The first one is Emanuel Leutze's Washington Crossing the Delaware. Fun fact: the actual crossing of the Delaware looked absolutely nothing like the scene depicted in the painting. That river was as cold as Larry King's white ass, and you'd be damned stupid to fit 10 people on one unsteady fishing boat in such conditions, especially if some ♥♥♥hole was standing up in the thing. Don't get me started on the horses.
The second one is Vincent van Gogh's Starry Night. Like much of van Gogh's work, this masterpiece was painted during the artist's residence at a mental institute. He sent it to his brother, Theo van Gogh (after whom I am vaguely named), to display in a museum in Paris.
No guesses on the last one? This third painting, actually, is a good example of how scaling some kinds of images down can fail you. Details seem to be most easily lost when the original is lighter in shade. A hint on the painting's identity: Greek Mythology.

Re: Don't Bother Spriting
The last one looks so familiar. There's a tree on the left and some naked chick leaning over on the right, with the middle being an open field with mountains in the back.
"Naked Chick Bending Over with Trees and a Mountain" turned up nothing good on google. Well nothing safe for work, rather.
I like this game.

Re: Don't Bother Spriting
I have to say, this is wonderful. I still find spriting fun but this is pretty damn useful.
Kudos, Raw.

Not quite as great as the others, but still pretty great for the time investment. Only took 15 minutes Attachment:

Re: Don't Bother Spriting
The truly remarkable thing is how good the small ones turn out despite how horrendously shitty the big sketches are.

Re: Don't Bother Spriting
Since detail is what makes the large ones horrible, it's not really so remarkable. Besides, I'm willing to bet P3l tweaked them a bit before posting.

Re: Don't Bother Spriting
They're a little fuzzy after you resize I've noticed, you kinda have to.

Re: Don't Bother Spriting
Which one? I made 3 bullpups. And yes, I did tweak them a bit after resizing. But as I said I made like all those in little over an hour total so this resizing crap is pretty great for productivity. I usually spend a few hours doing equal quality sprites
