It fired a bolt of electricity that attacked multiple enemies. It was in Ratchet and Clank. Ah, memories... I loved that freakin' game. Too bad the disk went missing.

Dude. o_O
You're making something that I thought impossible just yesterday and something that I've wanted for all the time I've been here. I'm so willing to do a more balanced and streamlined version of this as an energy/laser rifle with this, complete with all cool effects, sounds and sprites.
Its like all I ever wanted. ;_;

Re: Particle Accelerator Gone Wro...Right
Mmmh...
Looking upon this id love to see it launch grenades upon firing that lob across the screen, pulling all the particles with it in a closer orbit aroudn the nade - and after a few seconds when the nade finally rests - explode the Particles in every direction.
Yaaay - bloodfest!

Re: Particle Accelerator Gone Wro...Right
I love the long one, but it would be better if it's like a field generator to keep the particles in, so make the nozzle wider and longer.

There's a problem with the orb being between the nozzle. Particles have a tendency to collect behind the gun, causing the gun to be ripped from your hands (and sometimes your arms along with it) when firing. Numgun sent me some cool sprites and effects, and I'm right now working them into the mod. Siric, that long sprite gives me an idea for recreating either the Shocklance or Elf Gun from Tribes 2

Re: Particle Accelerator Gone Wro...Right
One of my first weapon sprites would work I think. It's an old picture I have of it comparing to Electroclan's old Tesla Cannon sprite since I made it as a resprite: I personally think it will fit perfectly with this gun. It's heavily inspired by Command and Conquer Red Alert series Tesla Coils. I've learned a lot about shading and spriting since then, and I could touch it up and animate it if you wanted to use it. If you don't it's cool, I'll be using it for myself though!

That would be very cool, though it looks too realistic.

Re: Particle Accelerator Gone Wro...Right
Damn that thing looks sexy! However, I think it deserves something other than this. It looks more like it should fire lightning bolts. Heh, funny fact. For the past few months I've been researching on how to build a Tesla coil. Because of the ultra high frequency of the current it produces, getting struck by one of the lightning bolts is actually harmless. It's because the human nervous system does not respond to current with frequencies over around 2kHz (current from the coil tends to be in the Mega-hertz). So you can take lighting from the coil and shoot it at something else from your finger tips (Tesla had been know to do that in some of his demonstrations). Sorry. I'm an engineering major and I tend to go on science tangents every now and then . Btw, hand positioning on sprites is a pain in the ass.

This is a GIF I made back when Darkstorm turrets could pick up weapons that landed very close to them (in this case the Tesla Cannon): I'm sure some have seen it before.
