could the code for the rocket landing pad work to hold the actor to the door till it has reached were it is going? or maybe make a actor(or dropship) use the same tech the Darkstorm "Yosei" uses to hover and add the rocket landing pad code to it that way it could go down AND up when there is a friendly unit in it unlike a door.

You simply find any actors within the zone defined by a parent object, then have it move an effect only MOSR and the actors at the same time and rate. Probably easy to do it based on a keypress, even.
