Yeah, the top part is awesome, seriously it is ♥♥♥♥ awesome Lowest, but the head (bottom part) is side on.
Re-do the head and make give it more perspective.

This is a great mod idea by the way.
Please make a large bunker module which has this in it, along with a rocket turret on the floor.
Also give it lots of nice attachables that can be shot off.
This will be really awesome if you go all the way and make it a proper mod.
Pleaaaaaaase do.

Edit: Does anyone have those old portal turrets that someone made?
Preferably current build compatible?

Will definitely be spriting the rocket turrets. =)

Nice sprites, man. I can totally see an entire portal mod (minus the portals of course) coming out of this...Aperture Science Bunker modules would be awesome.

The Bunker Modules are in the works actually!

One problem with that mockup: the perspective changes. The 'head' doesn't match the body.

Nope. The body is matching the head. This isn't a 3/4ths view of GLaDOS. Her body isn't perfectly symmetrical, nor does the head match the angle of her body in game. She's actually rather contorted.

I booted up portal and took a screencap to demonstrate this, along with her size relative to a person to show scale:
Scale Shot

Also, here's a good shot I found by someone who unpacked her model:
Back, Front, Side

As you can best tell in the Front shot, her body is angled while her head is mostly aligned normally.

And yes, she does look like someone bound upside down. Someone from GameISM did an awesome concept of GLaDOS, and I think it fits well.
Concept

Also you must make rocket launchers that pop out of the floor!

Not sure how I'd make them pop out of the floor, unless they were like actors stuck on a door or something, if that's even possible.
I'm definitely going to sprite them though.

If you are going to have sounds with this, it will be a great brain actor. Nice sprites, in my opinion.

The cake is a lie

I've already used a program to unpack all of GLaDOS' sound files from the game, including all of the sphere modules and turrent noises.
I'll need more experienced coders to help me implement this stuff once I'm dont spriting it I think, but they'll be there if I can get them to work properly.

I'll code it! I've already made the (Bullet) turrets, I just have to find them....

EDIT: And you'll have to point out where you want the spheres to go on it.

The insane genius steps up to the plate!
Well, when I get my sprite finished, the spheres will go as shown on this picture, according to how they are attached in-game:

Red is a little odd to place, since it's the only sphere not actually hooked upto anything. In Portal it just is stuck by the black wiring where my arrow is.

Zalo you're a mad genius. That's exactly where the head should be. As for the blue sphere, it needs to come out a little more so you can see the square imput that it's on.
I imagine that once I finish spriting and editing everything, that you can make it so that each sphere pops off when GLaDOS gets shot?
Basically I wanted (if possible) for this to be a big brain unit that wouldn't die until all four modules were destroyed (after being shot off) if that's even possible.
An alternate would be if you could pop off the Spheres as pick-up-able (it's a word) items that would have to be thrown into, you guessed it, a sprited Aperture Science incinerator and once all four had been destroyed, the GLaDOS body would get gibbed.

Regardless, it's kind of cool to see it in game. I'll definitely be spriting a housing for her soon. I've just taken a ton of screencaps in-game of the facilities so that I have something to work with when I get to work on the bunker modules.

Other than that, check here for updates! I'm focusing on the sphere modules right now, then I'll get to the task of detailing GLaDOS' sprite and finishing the rest of the parts she's connected to (Monitors, overhang balcony, spinning disks, and the cabling).

Double-posted due to this forum lag, sorry.

EDIT: using this post to say I renamed this thread to be more broad-spectrum and appropriate for posting anything else related to this GLaDOS sprite and what not, like bunker modules, turrets, etc.

Ok I guess the incinerator could be a ship that goes through walls like the ghost mod and arrives at the same location via lua when one of them leaves, so it would leave after you put one of the modules in a la zombie cave. Also, it could be that there is one brain unit with 4 brain actor attachables which are each module, right? I guess you'd have to make a custom portal scene for this and use it mainly there to have the incinerator feature, but the brain could still be made to be put in any map, no? I know some things may be off since I'm no expert but from what I've seen people do in their mods it's an approximation, mayhap with different methods.

Don't forget the turrets, with infinite ammo like in Portal!
