A big ass turret, you say? Ok here is some ideas:
-The old continuum laser, unoriginal but classic, armed with some small minigun turrets.
-Now, going a little bit original, the turret have the shape of a quad "limbed" "claw" that shoot a big ass ball of energy that go really slow and on impact explode volently and fly small plasma balls that behave like HOMING MISSILES!!!Yeah, so the impact kill part of the base, and the plasma balls kill at least the rest of the enemies. Come armed with shield projectors, that spawn a minimun lifetime piece of mioplasmatic plates in ridiculous speed when the enemy is seen, so all the shots will be blocked AND any a mini plasma homing balls launcher
Welll, I have a shitload of other ideas... but none seen to be what you expect...Maybe
-The cannon have a lot of tubes, plates, amplifiers, etc, etc, etc. Resuming all "doodaded" and hugetronz. When he shoot, you expect a giant laser, but no... come a small line of sparkling laser that hit earth and... meh, nothing From nowere, GIANT LASER PILLARS STRIKE THE EARTH WITH GREAT POWER in a rater big area, passing throutgh anything. Come armed with some turrets rail gun turrets

How about some nice 'suicide sacks'? Basically, they're parts that, when destroyed, explode into a bunch of homing dart type things with laser-bayonet style blades on the front that function similarly to homing missiles, save with a lifetime instead of explosives.

Good suggestions everyone, i'll consider them all. Although the huge kinetic non-explosive shell will be done fo sure since that was the first thing I thought about when I started making this.
Also updated the OP with a picture of the Novastar.
And also theres a small thing we could also use, the jetpack, it could be anything at all. Suggest what the jetpack should do. For example it could clean up the surrounding debris around it for instance. Or it could be a shockwave blast that could knock out anyone near the turret.
Keep suggesting!

Barrage Idea 1 . . .
Long reload time yet it is very deadly, it summons a squad of Option Modules and Shreds the hell out of the target, and the Modules stay until 10 seconds pass.
Barrage Idea 2 . . .
This one shoots a paint bomb, which explodes into painters, and smites the area with lightning, creates mini vortexes, aistrikes, summons troops, and/or smashes them ( by dropping crushing particles them ) !
VPC . .
From the MadMan Corps, is the modified VPC, it has many spectrums of pull and push being gushed out, and the spectums are constantly change area of effects.

Of course, cause the cannon don't fit in shape with the body. If you want the cannon to fit with the body, make the cannon blocky or ugrade the attache layers to not look mega blocky

Make the jetpack be on the barrel and fire off a shockwave like the quake bomb, Only 3-4 times more powerful. i also like the laser bayonet idea, but with it as a weapon , not a gib.

The jetpack should be like the old bubble shield from build 13/14 but repsrited and ALOT bigger with a low amount of jetpack and a large recharge time to displace its efficiency.

Damn. I just realized that my head is completely empty and I have no idea what should the cannon itself should look like.
After thinking a while on this I think a single cannon would be enough, and the magazine would be the thing that would differ to show what you've got loaded in your cannon.
So yeah, now that you've seen the cannons base, please either draw me a concept of a good cannon for it or ATLEAST link me to a random picture through either google, deviant art or other. I just need a picture so I could base the cannon on.
Also that current cannon sprite you saw on the turret right now might get converted onto another artillery cannon. Im still considering it.

Excuse my terrible drawing. Basically it's a tube with a gravity feed of shells. My requested thing is something that fires a shell, which separates into a set of 4 or 5 smaller explosives as it falls. If you try to shoot at something close by, before the shell has split, then it doesn't detonate, thus forcing you to use it as a more long range artillery. You can still use the direct impact of the shell to kill stuff of course.

All i want is a cannon that launches a big@ss bullet of mass, and an uber beam that puts the deathstar to shame.
If the enemy gets to close, the turrent isn't doing it's job, and the ground crew needs to start defend'in!
