Yeah, I got that impression.
@ comment: sure, you work on that, and Aspect and I can work on our joint project.

Re: The Crow, The Bear and the Serpent... RECALLED TO LIFE!!
alright, so i'm having trouble getting on the DRL IRC room, and i think a sub-room might be a cool idea for anyone who wants to contribute/is currently working on the project. Maybe that's premature, but i'd like to talk with some of you who are interested.
So: what's the url and chatroom name? what's the name for the Crow/Bear/Serpent-developer's-lounge room going to be? Is this a stupid idea?
I get my tablet back on thursday, expect more illustrations soon after.

Re: The Crow, The Bear and the Serpent... RECALLED TO LIFE!!
Let's not get ahead of ourselves: If you want to chat, I've got a few IM programs, but I don't think we're far enough to warrant a whole URL or whatever. I'm unfamiliar with IRC, so I'm not sure how big having your own chatroom would be. It would be very nice to assemble some people and talk things over though.
Also if you have the time, I'd like some sprites to work with. I can probably fudge some minor place holders, but your sprites are going to be better looking and will fit the actor parts I currently have.

I don't think I can work on this for a while, but don't stop on my account! As for IRC I think I agree it's a little premature. May be a good idea though.

Re: The Crow, The Bear and the Serpent... RECALLED TO LIFE!!
Alright, i tested it and it looks pretty good, all the essentials are there.
Things that look good: in the folder there was an alternate head that was black and had a big eye. I liked that alot, whoever sprited that should be my go-to person for spriting, as i am pretty bad at it so far. That should be a standard head for the Crow from here on out, it works well.
In fact, whoever made that, you can have the honor of turning any and all of my drawings into sprites if you wish.
The upper body, arms and head all seemed to function
Things that don't look good: Feet and hands offsets. They're understandably wack because of the unorthodox shape of the things they're connected to, but we can work that problem out. The legs probably shouldn't taper as much as they do, and the hand and foot sprites i made originally were very very poor place-holders.
Things to maybe abandon: The legs and the "hunched over" posture. It doesn't work and i don't know if it can. Legs should be normal for now with normal walkpaths and everything. It's the constuction of the torso that will make them look hunched over anyway.
I liked the death noise too, by the way.
After we get this first actor ironed out, let's do some weapons. I'll try to sprite those out next.

anyone who knows about irc knows you should be able to make a new channel by typing "/join #<channel name>" where <channel name> is the name of the channel you want to create (eg /join #geti) as a bonus you get ops too.

Re: The Crow, The Bear and the Serpent... RECALLED TO LIFE!!
Did some fiddling with the walkpaths today. It could still be ironed out a bit, but at least he's not walking on his knees anymore. And look! The ankles are almost connected!
I'll probably do a few more minor things before working more on that. I'll switch out the heads, but I'll keep the original mask. Also, the decorative feathers will be made into an attachable that can't get hit. As is, they take up a lot of space and make it essentially impossible to get a headshot off on the Crow.

good Idea about the feathers, I'd have done the same if I weren't so lazy.

Re: The Crow, The Bear and the Serpent... RECALLED TO LIFE!!
Weapon sprites with an actor i used as a scale reference. Disregard him. Attachment: Weapon sprites to scale.png I've got (From top to bottom) Slug Thrower SMG (High mass, low velocity, low accuracy, high rate of fire) Javelin Grenade (Sticks in whatever it hits, explodes a second or so after impact. Low splash damage) Carbine Rifle (Semi-auto, high velocity low-mass rounds, short reload) Shotgun (pretty standard shotgun, however the on-hand grasps the handle and the off-hand grasps that little one on the top of the gun) All these are taken from drawings i've posted already on the first few pages. Any specs you might need should be there. If not i'll give you some guidance if you're confused. These sprites can be tinkered with, they aren't final at all. I just want to get some weapons on the table to go along with this actor.

Suddenly I find the race to actually be fairly huge, nice sprites as well. They will be feared.
No other comments for now.
