Oh yes it would. Ask shook how to do it or just check his fireball-from-sky-calling-thingy-gun.
Although I've been playing around with the normal 300Kg slug cannon and it feels like that is all it needs.

I will make a cool fireball repeater to do massive infantry damage to nearby enemies, but that would be all.

Still thinking if there is any use for the jetpack button...

Jetpacks really are quite versatile tools.

Yeah, its an emitter that im pretty capable of making it do almost anything when you hit the button.

Maybe I might make it fire a [something] directly up killing anything above the turret since the turret cant aim straight up due to me limiting that.

A secondary AEGIS system would be cool, so that when your initial shiled gets destroyed you can make it last a little bit longer. Put spacing between the shield charges so that you can only use it once though.

I'd say shields are out of the question. A very short ranged plasma array that could kill weaker actors if they get too close, like skeles or dummies. Anything too sophisticated would be overdoing it.

It fires a bomb straight up, which then explodes into lots of little ACrabs with suicide bombs.

This is good, but it would require the jetpack to be destroyable which is not possible right now.
B21 might give it, might not. I'll keep this in mind since the current shields can only deflect a few bullets and they break from Mosrotatings almost instantly. I might even request help on this if I fail to make it work myself.

Also the minirobot idea sound tempting but not sure if it would fit this giant.

How bout a shield generator for the jetpack? Have it constantly spawn a big dome around it for as long as the button is pressed, give it properties to resist minor wepons and repel troops.
