Post A way to integrate Techs?
Is there a way to make two techs compatible?
So either side can buy the other's equiptment without the extra cost?
I want to make the Dummy Expansion equiptment purchaseable buy the Dummy Faction.

I haven't tried this, but maybe you can just put ModuleName = Dummy Tech into your index.ini?
Have you tried that?

There should be optional affiliates for techs, so you can buy units with no extra cost from them. (or rivals which you can't buy weapons from at all.)

Would be nice. :)

Friendly = same price.
Neutral = 4x price.
Enemy = No sale.

I tried adding the DE stuff to the Default Dummies, through their Index.ini, but I get this error:

---------------------------
RTE Aborted! (x_x)
---------------------------
Assertion failed: Tried to make a material mapping in an offical or out-of-bounds DataModule!

The last frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp'

You can copy this message with Ctrl+C

Your Dummy Material can't be called by an official DataModule.

What you can do is comment all the IncludeFiles out in Index.ini like so:

and then make a file like so:

and then include it in the index of the desired faction, like so:

Edit: I'm not sure why, but all of the whitespaces ("tab"s) were gotten rid of. It is Very Important that the file you are referencing from the original .rte have no spaces before the "IncludeFile"s. If you leave the "tab"s in, you will have problems.

Major, if you want, I can make you a version of Dummy.rte that has your expansion included in it. It might take a little while, but I've been doing that sort of thing for a while anyway.

I'm on it like white on rice. One thing, though -- you cool if I change instances of Dummy Alloy to Mega Metal? It'll be weaker, but I haven't yet found a way to define new materials within base content, either. Of course, you could also just redefine Mega Metal within Base.rte/Materials.ini to have the same properties as Dummy Alloy, at which point it'd just be more Mega anyway. I think I may do that myself, now that I think about it.

You can manually redefine the StructuralIntegrity/etc. each time the material is called in any Atom/AtomGroup/DeepGroup, if need be. Hacky, but it ought to work.

Alright, I'll try that in an alternate version later; I've already integrated most of it into Dummy.rte and reassigned Mega Metal to Dummy Alloy, so I don't think I'll be going back over it on this version.

I'll post this one, then start on the hacky one.

EDIT: Wait, sorry, I was totally not thinking about that. I can do that with the version I'm working on, never mind.

Thanks for your help, Arcalane.
