So, here's how we do this.
One person starts with an outline, (me in this case) and everyone else adds details and other things to the sprite until we think it looks good enough.
Example:
Quote:
Outline
Image

Then someone says:
Quote:
Taken

Then they go edit it a bit and edit their post with the sprite:
Quote:
Image

Rules:
1. Post as .png
2. Don't just edit the sprite perfectly and say it's finished, it's supposed to be a build up to the end product.
3. Don't start discussions, if you don't post an edited sprite, no-one will listen to you.
4. Don't try to steer the look/theme to a different direction.

Another thing! If you're really good at spriting, you'll probably think: "I could do that in a few minutes!" But the inspiration for this thread is that I was looking at the coalition soldier sprites.. They're all blocky. :P No really, there isn't much detail in them and even with the limited palette, and my limited talent, I could still edit them and make them look quite a bit better.
Lol, my spell check suggested spriting was "stripping".
Ok, I'll start of with an outline:

If you don't like the look of the outline, wait until it's finished and make one yourself, after we deem it done, a new outline will be posted.
Probably something completely different too, maybe a rocket?

Ok, fine, I'll do some editing.
Remember, even if you're not good at spriting, you can still contribute.

*Added some 3D-ness to it and added a crappy shadow to the smoke/flame.

It has to be a bmp. You can't do the whole png thing.
Because I'm a nice person, I'll make it a proper .bmp.

What do you mean, Png is lossless, and you can still use the palette.

Also, you edited the wrong one.

That's exactly what we should be doing.

Why do you have to be so goddamn good Naxete!?

EDIT
I don't know why, but there's two dots on the sprite, should be easy to fix though.

Edit
I think it's nearly done..

Also, keeping the image in .bmp makes it easier to make sure you always use palette (if you use graphicsgale) and is easier to use if the gun is made into a mod.

it could be anything but unfortunately for us to do anything we need context first.

I'm sorry but I have to ask.

Do you speak English?
