A better Sniper Rifle
I heard (but don't know for sure) that .50 cal rifles leave huge holes in people, that even a near miss is enough to kill.
The bullets in cc don't go through multiple targets the same way a real one would. A 7.62 can pass through 12 interior walls (Sheetrock/wood not concrete) it should pass though a few actors.
So, I made a bullet that harms even if its a near miss and passes through multiple actors (35 in my last test) it also frags on impact with terrain. (without doing too much damage to terrain) This is made from many different scripts, you may find bits of one you made.
this is just a test but I think it's a improvement.
so test it out, tell me what you think

Re: A better Sniper Rifle
If you want fairness, this isn't it. This is a bloody murder machine. Passing through Dreadnoughts like they're paper, that's a feat in and of itself.
What I found fun about it is you can, if aimed properly, make a long-range shotgun, skimming a pile of debris to take out a Dreadnought in one shot. That, however, probably doesn't happen in real life. Even if you were going for realism, this is that, and then some.
Really, the penetration could be dimmed down, and the amount of fragmentation after hitting concrete or dead flesh could be toned down as well. Not to mention, the sprite for the round threw me off for a moment because it wasn't long, slender, and moving as fast as I expected it to, but that's not the aim of this test.
In all truth and honesty, this is a good weapon, albeit slightly more powerful (read: HO-SHIT) than any sane-man's sniper rifle.
Final Verdict: Would shoot again. Many times.

Re: A better Sniper Rifle
thank you for your feedback, its quite helpful this was just a test, but i will work on the problems you mentioned (the round sprite was a placeholder, it bothers me too) i can reduce the frag number when the shot hits terrain the lifetime of the particles the shot gives off will reduce the damage it does to actors. the speed of the round is a problem, if i go faster it will simply skip some actors, doing no damage at all. I will play with this and see if i can find a work around.

Ridiculously overpowered. It scraps doors with one shot and kills anything it hits. Fun for a while, but I hope you're not advertising this or something similar to be added to vanilla stuff.

More of a test Gotcha! wrote: It scraps doors with one shot and kills anything it hits. I plan to tone it down. My aim is to have it pass through 3-5 actors and do a fair amount of damage to doors but not -one hit breaks

Re: A better Sniper Rifle
Okay so let me address a few small things. First off, a .50 BMG will not and has never been able to and never WILL be able to kill anyone without hitting them. That is such a ♥♥♥♥ ludicrous lie that I'm ashamed that I keep hearing it. Nothing personal against you, just, c'mon. Think about that. Physics simply does not work that way. Further, the penetration figures that gun control advocates love to parrot (such as a 5.56 going through 12 or 15 or a million or whatever walls) ignore a critical factor: tumbling. Standard AR-15 platform rifles fire 5.56x45 NATO rounds. The bullet in a 5.56x45mm round weighs four grams. Four. Grams. When a bullet that weighs four grams hits anything soft, it's going to immediately get thrown off course; it will not drill right through it like it's not there. This drastically affects where the bullet is actually going, and it's constantly losing a huge amount of energy. For a drastic example, look at the bullet that killed JFK; fired from a 6.5x52mm cartridge with a weight of 10 grams, more than double a 5.56, and here's what that bullet did: Quote: As President Kennedy waved to the crowds on his right with his right arm upraised on the side of the limo, a shot entered his upper back, penetrated his neck, slightly damaged a spinal vertebra and the top of his right lung, exited his throat nearly centerline just beneath his larynx, then nicked the left side of his suit tie knot. Governor Connally also reacted after the same bullet penetrated his back just below his right armpit, creating an oval entry wound, impacted and destroyed four inches of his right, fifth rib bone, exited his chest just below his right nipple creating a two-and-a-half inch oval sucking-air chest wound, then entered just above his right wrist, impacted and cleanly shattered his right radius bone, exited just below the wrist at the inner side of his right palm, and entered his left inner thigh. Look at that crap. If that bullet had been on a pinball table it would've been accused of cheating. Bullets tumble. A lot. Especially light, small bullets. And if a bullet hits something not so soft as flesh, then it just shatters. Myths like the .50 BMG going through three engine blocks (seriously? How do you even come up with that test? What possible circumstances would that situation ever arise in?) and far, far, far more are just incredibly silly but popular culture has pushed them into some pseudo legitimacy.

@ Grif Like i said i didn't know for sure. This was a test to see if i could make a round pass through multiple targets and shatter when it hits terrain.
I have no idea how to make a round tumble and get thrown off corse.
I did not intend to piss you off, thank you for your input. If you know how to make a round change it angle when it hits something let me know, i would love to play around with that.
