Sprite Errors
So I'm new to modding, and I figured I'd make a quick sprite head and test it with the Coalition Light Soldiers body. The actors .ini file is ripped from the soldiers file as well, but all the things that need to be relocated have been (the .bmp's and sprite names). It loads fine, and it walks fine to the right, but when you turn to the left, the face glitches out. The same glitch occurs on the buy menu, for the head and the Faction logo. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Sprite Errors
What you're experiencing is a sprite being out of palette, which occurs when you have a bmp file that both 1. does not use the same colors as Base.rte/palette.bmp, and 2. don't have it encoded to use those colors only. This can be fixed in several different image editing programs, just take a look at this thread and pick out relevant articles. Personally, I always push my Gimp tutorial since Gimp is free, so everybody can get it.

Re: Sprite Errors
Well, the head is just one sprite, so it should work when looking at whatever direction. Care to share your work so that people can check it out?

Re: Sprite Errors
No duh is right, often sprites appear pretty close to normal when facing right, then bug out when CC inverts them.

I'm using Photoshop since I already own it, and I got the color palettes from one of the articles in that link (great list, by the way. Very helpful). Is there a certain way you have to save the .bmp? EDIT: Gotcha, do you want the .ini or the actual sprites themselves?

Re: Sprite Errors
The sprite is all that matters as far as paletting is concerned, and yes you do have to save it a certain way. I'm not sure how you do it in Photoshop, but perhaps there's a tutorial in that list I linked.

Re: Sprite Errors
I remember a photoshop tutorial made recently. Search the forums.

Re: Sprite Errors
This is the head sprite, and I'll continue to look around the forums for a solution, thanks for all the help!
