Strange error with a sprite!
A red bleed appears around my first sprite. Am I doing something wrong? Also some of the other colours are acting weird. What am I doing wrong?
Oh. And also. How do I change the damage that a bullet does?

It is out of palette. Read this. CC's damage system doesn't quite work that way. Your bullet can either bounce off, penetrate, punch through or gib. This is based on the material of the actor and the round, the velocities, the masses and the sharpness of the round. So the simplest way would be to increase the velocity or sharpness or mass of the round you are firing.

Or, to avoid terrain rape, have ParticleCount = soemthing over one and seperation or soemthing like that at 0. That's what I did with the handgun in my and pete's gun pack nontheless.

Re: Strange error with a sprite!
Ok So I have been playing with the pallet for hours I tried Photoshop and even Gimp since the win7 paint dosn't work right with the palette trick. Then I found 411570N3's xp paint and that helped fix the main issue right away. (Thanks 411570N3)
However my sprite wont turn directions. I can face right but when I turn and face left the rifle becomes pixel junk! I have searched the forum and cant figure this out. I have been away form the game for a while as I lost the files when moving to a new comp about a year ago and now that I'm playing again I seem to be having a lot of issues with sprites. Is it all Win 7 junk?

Yes. Facing left and having it turn into pixel junk is another sign of being out of palette.

Re: Strange error with a sprite!
But I used the Pallet and set it up in Microsoft xp paint? Is there a different pallet then the one in the Base.rte folder?

Re: Strange error with a sprite!
Even if you only used paletted colours, if the image itself isn't using the palette then you'll get errors. What you have to do is paste your sprite into base.rte/palette.bmp and then Save As somewhere else. The new file you made will now work properly when viewed in-game.

Save as a 255 colour .bmp file. It forces the colour to be in palette, although this can screw up your sprites, so just open a 255 colour document, like the palette document, make the sprite, then asve it under a different name.

Re: Strange error with a sprite!
I have pasted the sprite into the palette.BMP from the Base.rte and I have done a save as 255 BMP 8 bit file however I find certain word choice that you both used interesting.
411570N3, you said "Save As somewhere else"
and Major said "(save) it under a different name"
Do I save as a different name , somewhere else simply to insure I don't over-right the pallet, which is obvious, or can I not save over top of the out off pallet sprite once I have pasted it into the palette for some strange reason that isn't so obvious?
In either case I will try pasting the sprite into the palette for about the seventh time and make sure once again that I save as a 255 8bit .BMP
I have just saved it again and I have a correction to make. I am saving as a 256.BMP as Paint XP dose not have a save as option for 255.
Tested: Same issue also I did try saving it as a new file in a new location rather then just saving over top of the old file. I then deleted the old BMPs and pasted the new BMP into the needed location. Is there some way to save 255 color in photoshop CS5 that doesn't work in paint any more? I have Windows 7 but I downloaded the Paint xp exe file to try and make the sprite in palette.
I'm at a loss?

Just saving as the default .bmp should be fine. And either technique works as long as you don't save over Base.rte/Palette.bmp, yeah.
