Post WIP: Smithon Weaponry
Image

Hi guys, this is my first put together modification for CC.
I am hoping to include many old and favourite weapons and some nice actors/everything else.

Weapons:
PM Makarov - Image
Tactical AK - Image
RPK - Image
Saiga-12 - Image
RPG-7 - Image
Battle Rifle - Image
MX1 Rocket Launcher - Image
Nagant Revolver
Tokarev TT
Percussion Rifle

Actors:
Hacked Dummy

To do list:
[ ] Fix mx1 rocket launcher using rpg round
[ ] Fix recoil and adjust battle rifle
[X] Better Saiga-12 Magazine sprite. (and gun sprite)
[ ] Fix tactical ak using RPK mags (doesn't really matter, they have the same round capacity)
[ ] Increase accuracy on Tactical AK and RPK.
[ ] Clean up Tokarev + Nagant
[ ] Shade sprites
[ ] Fix up percussion rifle

Seeing as this is a resprite, meaning basic content, nothing original or unique, the main appeal will be from your sprites. Pretty good for your first mod, but I think working on your sprites is a good idea.
Generally, weapon-only packs receive very little attention even if they're unique, so adding an actor should be one of your future goals if you intend to have a real release.

I have one actor, a hacked dummy (the one wielding the weapons) but it was a quick job so I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.

Added some more original (per se) weapons:
Nagant Revolver and Tokarev TT, I made the saiga 12 a bit nicer also.

Not bad for a first mod, but you need to work on the spiriting, as some of them seem flat.

For the sprites, try shading some of them. Even in a program as simple as MS Paint, it's pretty easy to do- just select the main color, lighten it and color the top of the weapon, then select the color, darken it, and color the bottom.

As for the Hacked Dummy, if you want a stronger actor, try increasing their gibimpulselimit and their joint's strength- increasing the health usually doesn't do much: most of my actors die from lucky shots when they have 60 or more health left, and an actor with higher health causes a glitch where if you try to return them to orbit you sell it for more than what you payed.

If you want to make a non-generic weapon, Lua is usually the way to go. Many mods that are popular have some Lua in them.

However, Lua is not a necessity by any means.

Yes, of course. It's good for doing things that normal code won't do.

for a first mod, this actually looks pretty good.
btw, you dont NEED lua to make something original, cause you can make all flavors of bouncy laser balls and such with ini modding.
