Sprites help.
I started modding a while ago, and thought about a total GUI reskin. I started with the font; it has a problem.
I only changed the color to red (still following the palette.) and these wierd black stripes are coming up. This happened another time with me, so I decided to make a thread about it.
There are two font maps: Base.rte\GUIs\Skins\Base\fatfont.bmp Base.rte\GUIs\Skins\MainMenu\fatfont.bmp
The main menu one DOES work, and I pasted the file in the Base map, and that DIDN'T work, after that it got borked.
First picture shows the perfectly working MainMenu one, Second picture shows the borked Base one (Look at the top-middle for example.).

Make sure it's in palette.

Re: Sprites help.
The only problem I know of that will make those stripes is the sprite being out of palette. You're probably doing something wrong and it isn't actually in palette.

Re: Sprites help.
A good way to put something in palette, is to copy the palette into your folder and paste your sprite into the copied palette (the copied palette is your new sprite). Then just crop if needed.

If you load something in some versions of photoshop and then change formats, it will stay in indexed mode but lose the colour table. I find this pretty annoying, as once you do something in the wrong colour table, there's no way to fix it.

Re: Sprites help.
... Through Photoshop I'm guessing. There are other programs that can put it back.
