Post Minor Mod or Not?
So, I'm just wondering what mods people would consider "minor" or okay with being directly in "mod releases". Anyone is free to hijack this thread to describe their mods for "mod releases" approval.

My mod is improved C4. It uses Coalition C4 sprites. The explosion has more kinetic strength and less lag. "Improved" detonators use a different table than the stock detonaters, so no worries about interference. The C4 packs will stick to anything, including moving objects.

If it adds a significant new feature to an old-hat mod, or it significantly improves base content, or if it contains a significant amount of overall content, it's worth posting as a separate mod.

I can see where you're on the fence; from your description, I could easily put that into both categories. It's not a massive change, but it does change the entire functionality of base content C4. In this case, I'd have to say that it's better as a minor mod, just by nature of the relatively small change and the overall similarity of functionality.

I'd put it in a class similar to my Blender: it could have been posted separately, and probably wouldn't have received any negative feedback, but if there's doubt about it being a minor mod, it might as well go in minor mods.

Yeah, I'd say it sounds like a minor mod thing, I don't think there's much you could get feedback-wise from a separate topic.

If you don't include either a template for sticky things or additional improved things, I would say it's for minor dump.

I think that the minor mod dump is better off as a trash bin.

Good stuff like CC48 or P3l makes should have a whole thread, IMO.

I disagree, if the minor mod dump turns into a trash bin no one would use it. I use it to release small mods I probably won't continue developing but still are too good to have lying around on my own computer only.

While we could just have everyone make "____'s pack o mods" topics, it's a lot easier to have one single topic for everyone.

Have it as a trash bin but don't call it that. Point all the new kids at it.

I don't think that many people even look through the darn thing.

Minor mods, as I see it, are ones that you don't really want to get a lot of feedback on, but you do want to have out there. Not necessarily trash, though.

They shouldn't be large, in either content or quality. Something tiny and amazing doesn't go in there, that would be worthy of it's own thread, unless you specifically don't want to deal with feedback. Something medium sized and downright bland should go there though, unless you particularly do want feedback.

What you've got here sounds small and uninteresting, to be blunt. You probably wouldn't get much useful feedback. I suggest you throw it in the minor mods dump, but you're the author, and it's your choice on where to put your mods. (and it's the mod's users' choice to disagree with that judgment)

Minor mods can actually be well made while most are pretty bad there are a few good ones in it. I would say this belongs in the minor mods.
