Need help with a Sprite that just refuses to look right...
Hey guys! This is my faction's bunker busting drop pod that I just can't seem to make look right. I have resprited it and reshaded it many times and it still seems a little flat... I don’t know what it is about it but it just doesn't look right... Would anybody be so kind as to have a crack at it for me? Also is the drill a little small? I didn't think it'd have to big that be because it's only going one way, down, and isn't really tunnelling or anything. It gets the troops into the bunker then gibs but I dunno if I should have made it a bit bigger, suggestions and resprites are welcome. It just needs to look a bit more.... tube-like? Also here's a sneak peak at my troopers. All help will be greatly appreciated and will be credited when I release this faction. Thanks guys! CBM02

You haven't really shaded them 4 real, just pillow-shaded them, which is a bad thing. And for the pod, try making it be darker to the sides and lighter in the middle.

I only really seem to have trouble putting crafts into the CC perspective. its not the shading, the lines are strait on the bunker buster, make them bend.

Put the lines on the drill at an angle, instead of straight. Maybe even indent the space between them or something to make it look more like a drill.

Improved, but slant the lines a bit more. Also, I don't know what you did with the colors on the drill to anitmate it, but it's horribly hypnotic. Take a look at the sprites in this. Try to learn from them.

It's animated because that’s what it'd look like in game... I don’t know if I can slant them any more that that, was difficult to figure out where the lines should have been on that one. Hyperkultra wrote: Take a look at the sprites in this. Try to learn from them. Hmmm I am just getting confused from looking at that one. I think my drill is smaller then his so I don't know if it'd work out the same. It's harder then it looks.

Try finding more similar shading colours to reduce the amount of identical pixels next to each other. Don't stick to the same colour either, you can choose whatever as long as it looks alright and since it's dark it will be hard to notice.

Did you thief the main drill from the A-1 Molemachine? Because if you didn't, then I applaud you. Other than the probable sprite thiefery, very nice work Naxx.
