Can you copy something (for example LUA scripting) in someone's mod (not yours) with out permission?

I tried getting permission but they haven't replied for a month and I think their either dead or not getting on anymore.

Preferably answered by an Admin Or someone who knows what their doing

If you steal code. Just be sure to give credit. And in the event that they want you to take down the mod, you will have to comply. So, unless they have specifically said they don't want their exact script in someone else mods. I'll give you the go ahead

it does kinda depend what youre doing though.
mostly its alright if its a snippet (for example the lift script on darlos's rockets) or you modify the hell out of it, but direct copies of large chunks of code are bad.
