Post Photoshop Question
So, I don't know if this is the right place to put this, but I am having a problem with spriting in Photoshop. In order to make a sprite CC style, it can't be anti-aliased. Unfortunately, photoshop automatically anti-aliases whenever I rotate a layer. Does anyone know how to change this?

make sure the image is in the proper palette before you do anything ANYTHING
to make sure it is in the proper palette, either work on a copy of an already in-game sprite (easy) or apply the palette to the image manually (slightly harder, involves ripping the palette from another sprite).

At the top of the screen go to Edit/Preferences/General.

Then where it says 'Image Interpolation' switch it to 'Nearest Neighbor (preserve hard edges)'

Hope that helps!

PS. once you are done, open any CC sprite that is already in palette, resize the image to be the same size as your sprite, then drag a selection box around your sprite and copy paste it into the CC image.

@capnbubs: thanks, I will try that. :D
@Geti: I used this Image one, is this the right palette?

I am trying to make this Image (the robot from the intro) into a sprite, it should take some work!

It's no use, it's going to be inplented in vanilla CC in the next build anyway.

No, the sprite is ugly. I'm not going to be nice about it so you can feel good about it.

Come on, It's not that bad. For a first try, it actually does the job. If you looked at the first sprite I made, then you'd see what ugly really means.

Just because it is less ugly than yours doesn't make it beautiful.

You have a point. I was merely pointing out the advantage of being one out of six billion humans: no matter how bad you are, there's always someone worse than you.

... Though I still think that the sprite is kinda OK. Not the best sprite ever, but enough for a first try.

The sprite isn't half bad; it's certainly a far cry better than anything I've ever done.

But anyway, if I'm not mistaken, Nova already made a working whitebot mod, complete with brainbot, trooper and two weapons!

yes it is. also thor is right, the whitebots are coming probably with the next build. the sprite isnt that ugly though, but it reeks of dummy resprite and robot feet, not to mention is too blocky to look good in game. it is advisable to do something more original though.

What was it?
My first sprite was the yellow block on my force field.

Yeah, I'll try something else. I actually made it 100%, though.

@ProjektTHOR I know it's pretty bad (what do you expect for my first go?) I don't care if you're nice about it, because I also believe in constructive critique. However, I don't think that saying, "it's fudge ugly" is very constructive.
