GooNade
Hi guys. I've been working on a new grenade that explodes and spurts goo on impact. Is this possible, and if so, how would I code it? Oh, and another question. What programming language are .ini files written in? I know, it's a stupid question, but hey, I'm a pretty stupid guy.

Re: GooNade
So when you say "I've been working on" you actually mean... you've done nothing at all? Before I can answer your questions I'll need more explanation on what you mean by "goo". What is this "goo" meant to do?

Re: GooNade
CC ini files use plain text. It's just a matter of stitching together stuff and changing variables make it fit your needs. The Goonade sounds like it would be a TDExplosive that gibs a pinned AEmitter that emits MOSRotatings and MOPixels.

Re: GooNade
hehe, thanks guys. You're right, I haven't actually worked on it. It's still in concept stage. Sorry. (please don't flame me.) I just needed to know how to make the grenade spurt goo. And, by the way, the goo would be thick, and, if I learn Lua, (some hopes) I might make it absorb and dissolve bullets. It would just be good for throwing down as a shield or wall. Anyway, thanks again. If I do finish it, I might pack it up with some other mods and release it. But then again, feel free to take my idea, if it's worth taking.

Re: GooNade
yeah, you'd need lua for it to stick to actors and generally behave as a goo. you need to learn to mod before having ideas like this. or more, you need to learn to mod to have a hope of getting much of the stuff you want.

Re: GooNade
I'd say start with making a more basic grenade, try your hand at getting it to work in game, then build upon from there. You're jumping a few stairs too many. Figure out what the variables you can freely edit in any .ini do.

Okay, thanks guys, good advice. You can expect to see me on the forums soon, asking you annoying and pointless questions. Maybe someday I'll even make a decent mod. i'll mess around with the vanilla content and other people's mods, and then use Azzuki's templates to try to mod a little. Thanks!
