You pretty much have to work with that palette. There's no "seeing what you can do."

I was using the CC. palette all along.. I was trying to say SOME OF THOSE 255 COLORS DON'T WORK!!!!

No it's not GIMP. However, if you were using GIMP all along, I think I figured out what went wrong: When you convert your bmps to the CC palette, you need to use the ENTIRE palette. What you've done was remove the unused colors from the CC palette during the RGB->Indexed conversion. Try the conversion again, but this time uncheck "Removed unused colors from colormap"

If you don't have the unconverted files, then you'll have to change the ones you have back to RGB mode, then back to indexed again with the above caveat.

well thats the thing.. when i converted them some change color and so when i edited them and when i chose a color from the palette some turn out the color i choosed and some turn out grey. i will try the "Remove Unused colors from Colormap"
