Post Animating Sprites
Hallo again.

I'd like to know if there's a method for animating sprites such as weapons and magazines. So far I have the "Weapon001, Weapon002" thing down, I just don't know what code to use to make it work.

Cheers.

It depends on what you're trying to animate.

In, for example, HDFirearms, there's only two frames. What the gun looks like shooting, and what it looks like not shooting.

Most object types, however, play through whatever sprites they are given. To make objects like this animated, simply make all the required frames, and then set the framecount to however many images there are. Remember that 000 counts as one frame, too.

I did that, and there was still no animation. Don't I have to add a line about the framerate or something?

Framerate only applies to MOSParticles and does odd things even then.

What are you trying to animate?

A weapon magazine. Simple two-state animation with blinking lights.

Hmm.

I don't know whether the game supports animating magazines.

It seems not to, though.

I can't really help you much. Someone else might have run into the problem and devised a solution, but it may just not be possible.

Alright, thanks anyway Grif. Hopefully it'll get implemented in a later build.

Could you just make the magazine miniscule with a mass object attached to it? or can you not attach things to magazines.
