Post Is mathematically calculating crawlpaths possible?
I've been trying to think of ways I could improve my B18 to B19 B20 conversion program, and I believe that adding crawlpath functionality automatically to actors would speed up the "true" conversion process even more.

I am posting this to ask for a few bits of information:
#1: How do crawlpaths work exactly, keep in mind I know little about CC modding so a detailed explication would be helpful
#2: Is it possible to calculate where the crawlpaths should go based on other offsets that are already present in B18 mods?

Nobody really knows, I'm afraid.

It's like walkpaths, as far as we know it's just a bunch of random numbers, that's why you don't see a minister of silly walks mod.

*ministry

Zalo appears to know. Before writing something off as insane and impossible, has it occured to you to ask the person who knows most about it? I'm sure Data could explain how it works in a PM, and Zalo seems to be a master of positioning them, along with every other offset.

I never think about talking to Data, it always feels like he's too busy.

And I didn't know about Zalo.

I think crawl is string of offsets, telling the individual parts of the body where to go. I think your idea could be possible, if it could calculate the size of the parts from the sprite offsets.
