Re: The Mortar Module
Well, as you guessed, I use photoshop.
I learned how to use it at school, so I usually manage to make anything I imagine with it. But the thing is, I think, that on tis forum, a lot of people use MS paint to make sprites, pixel by pixel. The advantage of photoshop is that I cas start from a texture, then work on it, add shadows, lights, ect... usually, I add the shadows by using the effects that are alereay in photoshop.
For the colors, when I dont start from a texture, I chose a color in the CC palette and then I do my work with it, adding relief with the different effects. The background of the bunker sprites are in blue tones, so I put my textures in dark blue tones before shadowing, ect...
adding a black contour is also recommended, for the cartoony style of the game.
and for new bunker modules ... I have an idea of adding some walls who would protect the entrances of my mortar module from bullets, maybe I'll make it tonight, if I'm not too tired. I'm editing the first post with pore information about the turret right now.

Re: The Mortar Module
photoshop knows the CC palette I'll try to see if the colours aren't bad, but I'd think it's okay. ... actually, it works quite well:

Re: The Mortar Module
Looks a little bit like a toy. Muzzle brake looks a little bit too flat--as does the base.

Aiming this is going to be problematic.

Re: The Mortar Module
I'm working on a mortar type weapon right now, would you like to use it in this gun? I would release it on my own, and another version can come with this. Basically it is a plasma mortar with very nice effects.
